Method

HIDE IMAGES
Step 1
Remove the ends of the sourdough (1 loaf) , then cut the loaf into 8 slices, roughly 2 cm thick.
Step 2
Whisk together the eggs (4) , sugar (60 g) and milk (40 g) . Add the bread to the egg mixture and allow to soak for 1-2 minutes on each side.
Step 3
Halve and stone the cherries (200 g) .
Step 4
Heat a large frying pan over a medium heat, add a small knob of butter (1 knob) and a drizzle of sunflower oil, then place 4 pieces of the bread into the pan and cook for roughly 2 minutes on each side, until golden. Cover and keep warm while cooking the remaining 4 slices.
Step 5
To serve, place two pieces of the French toast onto each plate, then add the crème fraîche (205 g) and cherries on top before sprinkling with a little more brown sugar, if desired.
