M&S spiced caramel panettone
cut into 8 slices
25 g
butter

Collection Cornish clotted cream
to serve
or speculoos clotted cream
to taste
icing sugar
to dust
to taste

Method

HIDE IMAGES
Step 1
Combine the milk (130 mL) , cream (70 mL) , cinnamon (3 g) , maple syrup (15 mL) and beaten eggs (4) in a shallow bowl. Dredge each slice of panettone (300 g) in the egg mixture.
Step 2
Working in batches, add 25g butter (25 g) to a non-stick frying pan and melt over a medium heat. Fry the egg-soaked panettone slices in the butter for 2 minutes or so on each side, or until golden brown. Keep the cooked slices warm in the oven while you fry the rest, adding more butter as you go.
Step 3
Serve the French toast with the clotted cream (to taste) , a dusting of icing sugar (to taste) and the berries (to taste) .
