red lentils
1 tin
(400 g)
M&S Italian chopped tomatoes
1/2 jar
(90 g)
tikka paste
150 mL
reduced fat coconut milk
200 g
wholegrain basmati rice
to taste
M&S natural yogurt
or vegan alternative
1 handful
coriander , roughly chopped

Method

Step 1
Gently heat half of the tikka paste (1/2 jar) in a medium saucepan for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the coconut milk (150 mL) and bring to a gentle simmer.
Step 2
Add the lentils (150 g) , mix well and then add the M&S Italian chopped tomatoes (1 tin) . Bring to a gentle simmer. Cover with a lid and cook for 30-35 minutes, adding extra water if it looks too dry.
Step 3
Meanwhile, cook the rice (200 g) as per the pack instructions. Serve the dahl with the rice along with a spoonful of yogurt (to taste) and fresh coriander (1 handful) , if you like.
