You will need cocktail sticks for this recipe.

Method

step 1
Cut a long strip from the bottom of the cucumber (1) lengthways, so it’s able to sit flat on a tray.
step 2
Cut the strip into four pieces. Cut triangles along the shortest piece of each, to look like claws.
step 3
On the remaining piece of cucumber, slice from the top around 1/3 of the way, using the end of a wooden spoon to gently prise open – this will be the crocodile’s mouth. Cut triangle zig-zag shapes across the top and bottom of each piece of the opening to look like teeth.
step 4
Lay the cucumber out onto a serving tray, with the four pieces of ‘feet’ on the bottom and the whole crocodile piece flat on top.
step 5
Now it’s time to get creative with the toppings! Cut a piece of carrot (1/2) into a wide strip for the tongue. This can be pushed into the opening for the mouth.
step 6
Thread the cheddar (60 g), cherry tomatoes (8) and olives (9) in threes onto cocktail sticks, saving one olive for the eyes. Thread the blueberries (8) and grapes (16) in threes onto cocktail sticks. Stick these in the top of the crocodile.
step 7
Slice one olive to give you two eye-shaped discs. Pop each onto a cocktail stick and pop onto the crocodile to look like eyes. Serve.
