We're summer loving all things pistachio this year. At M&S, searches on our website for 'pistachio' have increased by more than 2000% over the last three months. Products like our pistachio crème sent shoppers wild, racking up millions of views on social media.

How did the trend start?

"Pistachios came across my radar as a mega trend in 2024 when FIX, Dubai's 'Can't Get Knafeh of it' bar, went viral on TikTok, amassing over 90 million views and creating the viral sensation now known as Dubai chocolate," says M&S Food's head of trends, Eleanor Turner-Mendis. "The trend looks set to continue, with Google searches for 'pistachio' tripling in the UK in the past year, and hashtag #pistachio quadrupling on TikTok.

Nine months in development, it’s our levelled-up, pistachio version of the Big Daddy bar, which went viral last summer and was dubbed the UK’s answer to Dubai chocolate.
