This autumn's must-watch series

Did you catch the final of M&S: Dress the Nation on ITV1 tonight?

In the episode, the three remaining contestants – Casey, Richie and Bailey – designed a show-stopping partywear collection under the watchful eyes of Lisa Illis, M&S's head of womenswear design and Mitch Hughes, director of M&S Man. They were also joined by three guest judges: Marco Capaldo, founder and creative director of luxury label 16 Arlington, model and entrepreneur Jodie Kidd and supermodel David Gandy.

Following the challenge, the contestants showcased their final designs in a catwalk show in front of the judges, family and friends and last year's winner David. After a nail-biting interview with M&S experts Lisa, Mitch and Maddy, Casey was crowned the winner of Dress the Nation 2025. Her prize is a mentorship with M&S, plus one of her designs – the gold dress – is available to buy here on M&S.com.

Discovering new talent

Hosted by well-loved presenters Vernon Kay and AJ Odudu, Dress the Nation seeks to discover exciting new talent as nine candidates from all walks of life compete for the chance of a lifetime: to design clothes for M&S.

Working from a purpose-built design studio, the contestants work both individually and in groups to design and create garments that will appeal to M&S customers.

The finished items are showcased to the judging panel, consisting of M&S experts and a guest celebrity judge, with one contestant eliminated each week leading up to the grand final.

The judges are looking for budding designers brimming with creative flair, with a willingness to learn and a true passion for design, with no formal qualifications or previous training in fashion required.
