Superdefense™ SPF 40 Fatigue + 1st Signs of Age Multi-Correcting Gel 50ml

People seem to moan about this product, I don't know why. I use it each day. It is a bit thick to go on, as are most SPF 40 products (like sun cream) but it gives me a glow and as one friend (same age) said at dinner recently 'where are your wrinkles?'. I see this as the proper version of the products. It's more expensive, but, buy cheap, buy twice. A lot of these other reviews poo-poo it. I think this is because it is quite a heavy gel, and if you had to put on a load of make ups after, yeah I can see it feeling heavy or whatever the less the favourable reviews say. But, as a man, if I was a woman, putting on an SPF 40 cream each day, I wouldn't expect my make up to take? Isn't that just common sense? -Don't all hate me at once- I find this moisturiser works best once I've used the exfoliating liquid and a serum. Ignore the nay-sayers. Fellas (and gals), it's like the cheaper ones, but so much better. Use it for a week and see how many people say you've a lovely glow.

This Stuff is dreadful! One day wearing this and I was burnt and covered in spots! By day 2 I had burnt red patches on several parts of my face so the sunscreen is completely ineffective as such and added to that I ended up looking like a spotty teenager. Absolutely not amused. Total waste of money. It is also sticky and doesn't absorb and feels very uncomfortable on your skin. I used to have the even better SPF25 correcting lotion in the white bottle which was fab stuff but someone, in their lack of wisdom, decided to discontinue it. thankfully I had some left and after 2 days with that on, no longer had spots or burnt patches. Clinique please get rid of the dreadful stuff and bring back to SPF25 even better lotion!

This product is excellent . Feels good on my skin and solves drynesss problems

I have been using the Superdefence with spf 25 and been very happy with it, so I was glad to see one with spf 40 was available. Unfortunately it leaves my skin feeling sticky/greasy with a shiny look - it is really uncomfortable for me to wear. I gave it a go for a week using less and less of the moisturiser but nothing is changing so I won't be using it anymore.

Just bought Clinique Superdefence SPF 40 gel, from Boots. I am not happy with this cream-gel! When I use it in the morning is like I add a small layer of gel on my skin that is not absorbed at all and just stays there, my skin is sticky, very shiny like I have used greace! Also, I feel it on my face, durring the day, It gets a bit dry and feels like a face mask, is annoying! I have used so many other SPF hydrating creams or serums and I can say this is one I would not buy again, not for my skin type (mixed skin, clean it 2 times a day, deep clean once at 2 weeks) actually it was a waste of money for me. Best to try a sample of everything on the face directly, before buying.

I love this moisturiser. I struggle to find ones that work with my skin and judging from the other reviews this is a marmite product, but I haven't found anything else that ticks as many boxes in performance as this one, the texture is super light, I find it absorbs really well and sits wonderfully under primer/BB cream. It's improved the texture of my skin for sure and I love that it's a high SPF but isn't remotely claggy and doesn't make me break out. The spf definitely works as I'm very pale and with this I don't get freckles. It's my hero product.

I ordered this instead of the now discontinued SPF25 version. I was hoping for a similar product. However this gel version leaves my skin feeling taut rather than moisturised. I won't be ordering again and am at a loss to know what to use instead.

This moisturiser is a god send. I have tried numerous ones over the years and none have changed my skin like this one. I have hormonal, acne prone damaged skin and this is brilliant. If I'd have read the reviews first I probably wouldn't have bought it but I'm glad I did because it's great. Absorbs well, has a nice texture and my skin feels protected without being over loaded. No break outs and my skin is smoother.

Disappointingly this product & I seem to be incompatible. Initially I quite enjoyed the smooth texture of my face after use but it also seems to be causing some redness & irritation and can also cause even very light make up to stick and look patchy. After some perseverance, I don't think I can keep using it unfortunately. Recommend sampling it before you commit to a purchase if you can.

I have very oily skin and have really struggled for years to find a high SPF moisturiser that suits my skin. I LOVE this - I've been using it for over a year now. Like some of these reviews say, it can have a slightly sticky texture when applying but it absorbs into my skin perfectly, leaves it feeling bright, well moisturised, and has improved my skin texture over the last year noticeably compared to the regular dramatically different moisturising gel. It doesn't cause me breakouts or redness. I much prefer this to the SPF 25 version, that did leave my face too oily and feeling over moisturised - it didn't absorb as well. I'm dreading that one day Clinique might decide to discontinue this with all the negative reviews.

I have always loved dramatically different moisturiser and was really looking forward to getting superdefence as a gift for my birthday as I feel my skin is starting to show signs of aging. Unfortunately I am really disappointed with it after using it for 2 days - it irritates my skin making it feel warm and itchy plus the smell is really chemically when applied and lingers all day. Wish I had stuck with what I knew!!

I've been using this moisturiser for a while now and I'm really loving it!. I haven't experienced any of the concerns that lots of others have mentioned at all! I have oily combination skin, I find this lightweight, easy to go on, I put make up on top most days and it goes on and stays fine all day or the days I don't wear make up I find it lovely by itself too. I think this is my forever moisturiser now! Thankyou Clinique

Received this as an offer when ordering a serum. Really like it. A high SPF and I haven't noticed any of the problems other people have written about. Small amount needed and make up sits on this with no problems. I usually get break outs with high SPF anything on my face but this has been fine
