I love Clinique products I've been using them for many years. This moisturizer lasts a long time as a small amount goes a long way

Disappointing

I used the previous version for many years and was delighted when this version came out with a SPF. However I could not be more disappointed. I find it quite thick but the main problem is that no matter what I do I end up with white flakes all over my face.

My favourite moisturiser with SPF!!!
Originally posted on Clinique UK
Smart SPF 30 has become my favorite moisturizer with SPF and that's saying a lot because I used to hate them all. It feels light (I dislike the feeling of a thick-heavy SPF), non-greasy, doesn't irritate my skin. I used it during my holidays in Mexico and I didn't burn at all! I've read some bad reviews about the cream pealing, but I've never experienced that! I always let it fully absorb before applying makeup, perhaps that's why. Definitely a sunscreen I enjoy wearing every day!

Not as good as the old version
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I've been using the old version for years, and I'm really disappointed that it's been discontinued. The new version simply isn't as goodóit's too thick. My makeup starts to pill and becomes patchy by the end of the day. It also causes breakouts. I gave it a try for a couple of weeks, but it's just not suitable for my skin. It's a shame, because I was loyal to the old formula for years, and this new version is far too expensive for what it offers.

Awful for my skin
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I purchased this product as Clinique have discontinued Smart SPF15 custom repair moisturiser (dry to very dry). I used the Custom repair moisturiser for many, many years, it suited my dry, sensitive, mature skin type perfectly. I ordered the Smart clinical repair SPF30 product on the recommendation of the Clinique rep in my local department store, she said this was the updated version. Big mistake, it seemed ok for the first couple of days, despite the strong chemical smell. Then my skin became red, irritated, dry and a few whiteheads appeared, I continued to use it for a few days more but had to give up. I'm going on a girls trip in a few days and my skin will now take weeks to heal. It's so uncomfortable and embarrassing. I'm stuck now using Clinique serum with no moisturiser, I've had to revert to Pai to calm my skin down, in the hope I can enjoy my holiday.

Dreadful allergic reaction
Originally posted on Clinique UK
Like other reviewers, I was a long-time fan of the original formula in the silver pot, and used until it was discontinued. I have been using the new formula since its introduction, largely for the SPF content. I am now on my 3rd jar, having purchased the larger size. I had no reaction until I started using this new jar, and was dismayed to have come out in a red blistery rash all over my face. A process of elimination of all products concludes it is this. I don't know if an ingredient has changed to cause this since I started using this new formula, but it has been a distressing waste of money. I have sensitive skin, which is why I choose Clinique, but have never reacted to any product in this way before. I have had to pare back my use of all skin and makeup products for now, and look to another skincare brand for day cream.

Not as good as the old formula
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I'm disappointed with this considering how expensive it is. The older formula in the silver jar was much better and cheaper. This is quite thick and feels heavy. My skin does not feel nice after I've put it on. It doesn't feel as light and pulls underneath the makeup. It also has a very horrid smell. The older formula never did this. After using the whole jar I feel my skin is no better for the extra price tag and if anything looks duller in comparison. It is a real shame as there is no alternative to this in the Clinique range. I've always felt like Clinique did wonders for my skin but this product and the night version are so disappointing and over priced. Please bring back the old smart moisturisers for day and night in the silver jars.

Disappointing product
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I have been a fan of Clinique for over 30 years. I am extremely disappointed with the smart clinical repair SPF 30 as my skin after use is covered with dry, white waxy flakes. Will not buy again and cannot recommend. The smart clinical repair without SPF is beautiful.

Please bring back the previous version
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I purchased this because the previous smart repair in the silver packaging has now been discontinued. I have combination oily skin, and compared to the previous version, this is a lot thicker, does not blend into my skin well, and has now brought me out in terrible spots as I feared. Gutted, I had found a really nice moisturiser and now it's gone.

Pills under make up

The cream is light and has a firming effect. However it pulls when I put Clinique foundation on top even if I wait a while. The original Smart SPF 15 cream in a silver jar was much better - please bring it back.

Awful cream, does not sit well on skin
No, I don't recommend this
Having used Clinique Smart SPF15 for years, was excited to give this a go. However, this is awful, it does not absorb into the skin, stays on top and spend the whole day fighting off flakes of cream.

Awful - bring back the SMART15 moisturiser
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I have used and enjoyed using Clinique products for over 30 years. I used the SMART 15 moisturiser for years and it was the best. Skin felt happy, great with or without makeup and a sunscreen without breakouts. This new product feels like glue, and makes my skin red. I am no longer buying Clinique moisturiser as I can't find one that suits my skin now. They did the same with SMART serum and again lost my custom. I still buy Clinique makeup.

Makes my eyes sore and watery.
Originally posted on Clinique UK
Have used the smart range for many years and loved it but the new SPF30 range makes my eyes red, sore and watery. The cream goes on too thick and my make up doesn't go on smoothly afterwards. I also use eye cream which I love and the smart serum too.

Hurts My Eyes
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I have previously used this Clinique cream but the version without the SPF30. Sadly my sensitive eyes react badly to this cream, leaving eyes blurry and red. Disappointing as I had hoped that Clinique would have tested this more rigorously. The cream without SPF is amazing on my skin, leaving it glowing.

SPF is not working

This moisturiser feels great and leaves my skin glowing, healthy and conditioned looking. I love Clinique products as someone with sensitive skin. However, having been outside for a few hours walking in woodland in March in the UK, with some mild sunshine and some cloud, my skin on my face is quite burnt! SPF is clearly not effective. I am not sure what to add on top as I expected this cream to be a suitable day cream for UK conditions

All the new Clinique smart range apart from the serum does nothing for my skin . This one is like putting paint on my face awful and the others probably do their job but there is no glow or moisturising effect like the md cream or smart night . Clinique is one of the best skin care products I have ever used I can't understand why they would discontinue such amazing creams to replace them with these mediocre ones .

Burning irritated red skin
Originally posted on Clinique UK
Unfortunately this was an expensive disappointment. I relied on the previous good reviews, however, this wasn't my experience. The first day I used it my face went red with burning skin. Also by the end of the day my skin had dried on the surface such that makeup was in visible dry clumps-an achievement given I use EstÈe Lauder at night and Chantecaille tinted moisturiser-I would have looked better with no day cream. It was the only new thing I've used and repeated when I tried to use it the next day. Rather than glowing I look permanently red and my skin is very sore! I won't risk another day.
