    • How do I activate my Sparks card?

      To activate your card, click here, log in to your M&S account and follow the below steps.

      Click 'Get Started' to activate your card and register it against your account. You will see the below screen:

      Using your Sparks card, fill in the details on the form. You will find your card number on the back of your card. After this page, you will be able to select your offer preferences and much more.

    • How do I check my Sparks balance?

      You need to have registered your Sparks card to be able to check your balance online. Click here to find out how to create your Sparks account. 

      To check your balance online, visit marksandspencer.com/sparks and log in to your account. Your balance will be shown in the left-hand corner of the Sparks homepage, inside the black banner.

      When you make a purchase in one of our stores, your balance will be shown on your receipt. If you are eligible for any bonus points, these will not show on your till receipt but will be added to your account within 48 hours. 

    • How do I use my Sparks offers?

      You can activate and redeem your offers online, through the M&S app or instore.

      Online -

      Visit marksandspencer.com/sparks and go to the Sparks home page. You will see on your homepage the offers you have available to you. Click on an offer to find out more information. If you would like to add the offer to your Sparks card, click 'Add to card'. You will notice that a small Sparks card will appear on the offers you have activated. You can always come back another time to activate your offers, but take note of the expiry dates so you don't miss out.

      App -

      Open the M&S mobile app and click on the Sparks page. On this page, you will see if have offers available, tap on this to see what these offers are. Tap on an offer if you would like to find out more information. To activate the offer swipe left on chosen offer and then select to activate; this will make the offer automatically available on your Sparks card. Once you have activated offers they will be listed under ‘On your Sparks card’.

      Instore –

      You can use one of the instore browse and order hubs to activate your offers, or simply ask one of our friendly customer assistants to help you.

    • I haven't received my sparks from a recent transaction, what do I do?

      It can take up to 48 hours for your sparks to be credited to your account after a purchase. You can check your sparks balance by logging into the Sparks hub or thorugh the M&S mobile app.

      If you bought an item in one of our stores and your Sparks card was not scanned, we are able to add these points up to 30 days after the original transaction. The points can be added to your account on production of your original receipt and Sparks card.

      Please note that some products may be excluded from the scheme including baby milk products (0-6 months) and lottery tickets.

      Bonus sparks do not show on your till receipt but will be present in your account. This can take up to 48 hours.

    • Does my Sparks card automatically register to my M&S.com account once I have activated the card?

      If you activate your Sparks card using your account log in details, this will be saved against your account. You will be asked for the 18-digit card number which is on the back of your card. You can only have one Sparks card registered to your account.

    • What is Sparks?

      Sparks is our new members club. It's free to join and whenever you use your Sparks card, you will collect sparks.

      The more sparks you collect, the more you unlock. You will receive tailor-made offers, invitations to events and the chance to win money-cant-buy experiences as well as priority access to the M&S Sale and new season previews.

      Plus, every time you use your Sparks card, we donate to a good cause on your behalf at no extra cost to you.

      You must have an M&S.com account to be able to register your card and redeem the offers. Please note that sparks points do not translate into cash value and cannot be spent in store.

    • How do I collect sparks?

      With every transaction you make in-store or online, you will receive 10 sparks for every £1 spent. There is a minimum spend value of 10 pence to qualify for the first spark in every transaction. The number of sparks you receive is rounded to the nearest multiple of 10p.

      You will also receive a bonus of 10 sparks for every transaction.

      If you have activated your card online, your sparks will be automatically applied along with any offers you have activated.
      If you shop in one of our stores, you will need to scan your card at the till to collect sparks and redeem any activated offers. 

      If you use the Shwop service in store, you will receive a 50 sparks bonus. You will also receive 25 sparks for every product review you write that we publish online.

      Please note that sparks points do not translate into cash value and cannot be spent in store.

    • Is Sparks replacing the M&S Premium Club/loyalty scheme?

      No, Sparks is a totally different loyalty programme. You can be a part of both and use them alongside each other.

      Yes, in order to activate your Sparks card, you must have a marksandspencer.com account. For current users of marksandspencer.com, you will use the same email address and password for Sparks as you already use online.

      In order to earn sparks on your online transactions, you must use the same login details. You will find all of your Sparks account details within your marksandspencer.com account.

      If you log in using your marksandspencer.com account and register your Sparks card, it will be saved against your account for future use. You will be asked for the 18-digit card number which is on the back of your card. You can only have one Sparks card registered to your account.

    • How long are my Sparks offers valid for?

      Offers will be valid for different lengths of time, please check the expiry date shown on the offer page or in the Terms and Conditions of the offer.

    • Where can I use my Sparks card?

      You can collect sparks in Marks & Spencer stores in England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and online at marksandspencer.com.

      You can redeem your offers in all Marks and Spencer stores in England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man and Northern Ireland and online at www.marksandspencer.com. Outlet stores are excluded.

    • I have been sent a Sparks card, do I have to be a member just because I am an M&S Bank customer?

      No, not at all. As a special customer, we wanted you to be the first to know about Sparks and the great benefits you can get by being a member. It is completely up to you if you want to join.

    • Where can I pick up a Sparks card?

      Sparks cards are available at all Marks & Spencer stores in England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland.

    • Can I join Sparks if I am an international customer?

      Sparks has initially been launched in the UK only but we hope in the future to share Sparks with more of our customers around the world. We’ll announce plans in individual markets as Sparks become available.

    • How do I unsubscribe from Sparks emails?

      You cannot opt out of receiving Sparks emails if you wish to remain in the scheme. The only way to stop receiving emails is to close your Sparks account. Please click here to find out how to close your Sparks account.

      Please note, closing your Sparks account does not close your marksandspencer.com account. You may still receive emails from Marks and Spencer if you have opted in to receive them in your marketing preferences in your account.

    • How do I check my Sparks balance?

      You need to have registered your Sparks card to be able to check your balance online. Click here to find out how to create your Sparks account.

      You can update your personal details by visiting marksandspencer.com/sparks and logging in to your account. When presented with the Sparks homepage, click on your Sparks balance in the left-hand corner (see below).

    • Can I collect sparks if I haven’t registered my card?

      Yes you can, but you will not be able to redeem any offers until the card is registered. To register your card, you need to visit marksandspencer.com/sparks and add your card to your account. You must have your card present in store to be able to collect sparks, or have registered the card to your online account to collect sparks on online purchases.

    • Can my sparks be added at a later stage?

      Yes, sparks can be added to your account on production of your original receipt, up to 30 days after the original transaction.

    • My Sparks card has been lost or stolen, what do I do?

      Your sparks and benefits are held on your account, not on the card so if your card is lost, damaged or stolen, you simply need to pick up a new card in store and add it to your account. Once it is added to your account, you'll be able to use it to collect sparks. Your old card will then deactivate.

    • Can I have more than one Sparks card on my account?

      Unfortunately not, you can only have one card on your account at a time. If you lose your card and add a new one, the most recently added will be the only valid card.

    • How is my personal information used for Sparks?

      Your personal information obtained by us in connection with Sparks will be used in accordance with data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy (available at marksandspencer.com). In particular, it will be used to administer the Club, provide you with benefits and to keep you updated including by email.

      By joining the Club, you agree to receive email updates from us about the Club and your benefits. You will not be able to opt out of receiving such updates unless you terminate your Club membership.

    • Will my Sparks card expire?

      No, your card will never expire. 

    • How do I cancel my Sparks registration?

      Please visit the Sparks hub and go to 'Your Sparks Account' to opt out of Sparks.

    • Tell me a bit more about the charity scheme through Sparks

      We will donate 1p on your behalf to your chosen charity for each transaction you make with us. To do this, you must select a charity from a selected list of Charities whilst registering and make sure you scan your Sparks card for every transaction. You may change your chosen cause at any time whilst you are a member of Sparks

    • What is my Sparks anniversary date?

      Your anniversary date is the day you joined Sparks. 

    • How do I let you know my interests for Sparks?

      We will ask you to set your preferences when you sign up. If you would like to change the interests you have registered, visit the 'Your Sparks Account' page and update your details.

      The offers you receive will be a selection of food, clothing, homeware and accessories offers and will be based on what we know about you and what you like. We will also base some offers around things we think you may be interested in trying.

      Unfortunately, you cannot change the offers you receive.

    • Can I change the charity I support with Sparks?

      You can change your chosen charity at any time. Simply visit your Sparks account page and update your details.

    • Is the M&S Sparks card connected to the Sparks charity?

      Sparks the charity and the M&S Sparks card are not connected. However, Sparks the charity is looking to partner with a number of M&S stores as their charity of the year, with a view to benefiting from their annual fundraising initiatives. Sparks the charity raises money to fund pioneering children’s medical research. 1 in 30 children is born in the UK every day with a condition which may affect them for life. If you’d like to find out more about Sparks the charity or make a donation please visit www.sparks.org.uk

    • Can I have more than one Sparks card on my account?

      The Sparks loyalty scheme is on a one card, one member basis. We do not offer duplicate cards on the same account. This is because your offers, priority access and events are tailored for you based on your preferences and the number of Sparks you have.

    • How do I close my Sparks account?

      To cancel your Sparks registration, please go to www.marksandspencer.com/sparks and sign in to your account. Once in the Sparks hub, follow the below steps. 

      1. Click the settings logo to be taken to your account page.

      2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click DISABLE ACCOUNT.

    • Do Sparks have a cash value?

      Sparks do not translate in to cash value and cannot be spent in store. The more sparks you collect, the more offers you unlock. You can also unlock priority access, events and experiences.

    • How do I earn sparks for Shwopping?

      Shwopping works alongside Sparks, allowing you to earn 50 sparks each time you shwop. Simply drop your unwanted items in the Shwopping bins in store, go to the till and claim your sparks.

    • How do I redeem my Sparks offers?

      Your offers are automatically applied to your Sparks card once you have activated them online. This means that they will be applied in the online checkout for you, or applied in store as long as you swipe your card at the till.

      To activate one of the offers available, you must choose your desired offer on your Sparks account page or use the M&S app. On your offers page you will see a list of the offers that are currently available to you. These have been tailored to you, using the information you previously provided. You can pick the offer that you wish to unlock and use (don't forget to save your selection). This will then automatically be applied to your account to use when you use your Sparks card in store or are logged into your online account (depending on the offer type). 

      If you are making a purchase in one of our stores and wish to use one of the offers you have unlocked, simply swipe the card at the till.

    • How many Sparks offers will I get and how often can I use them?

      You will unlock a maximum of four offer slots depending on the number of sparks you have collected. Offers available to you are based on your shopping patterns and your personal preferences. These can be food or clothing, home and accessories offers. Make sure you keep an eye out for special bonus offers too.

      Your offers can be used as many times as you wish until they expire. 

      You can find the offers available to you at marksandspencer.com/sparks or in the M&S app. You can start enjoying offers straightaway, simply by joining Sparks. Full details are in the offer terms and conditions.

    • I recently returned something, will I lose the sparks I received?

      Yes, any refunds will be reflected in your Sparks balance. If you return an item as faulty, you will keep your sparks as a gesture of goodwill.

    • What are the Sparks levels of benefit and how do I reach them?

      There are four levels of benefit and you can reach each level by collecting more sparks. The levels and benefits are:

      3,000 sparks - you'll be the first to see our new season previews, including must-have items and new collections.

      5,000 sparks - you'll be able to preview and buy our sale items a day before it goes on the site. 

      14,000 sparks - we will invite you to special events including exclusive shopping evenings, catwalk shows and food master classes. 

      17,000 sparks - you'll have the chance to join us for a number of different experiences, from all-expenses paid trips to M&S vineyards with wine experts, to a meet and greet with our top models David Gandy and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

    • What are Sparks experiences and how do I find out about them?

      When you reach 17,000 sparks, you will get the chance to enter a prize draw to win a money-can't-buy experience. Recent experiences have included an all expenses paid visit to any M&S store in the world.

      The prize draws run on a monthly basis so please bear in mind that you may not receive one immediately after reaching 17,000 sparks.

      Keep an eye out for our newsletter emails where you will find full details of the next experience when the prize draw opens.

    • I don’t seem to have the right number of sparks, why is this?

      If you think you are missing some sparks, please bear in mind that it can take up to 24 hours for them to update. For Shwopping and writing a product review, please allow up to four days for your sparks to show. You can check your sparks balance by logging in to the Sparks hub or through the M&S mobile app.

      If you bought an item in one of our stores and your Sparks card was not scanned, we are able to add these points up to 30 days after the original transaction. The points can be added to your account on production of your original receipt and Sparks card.

      Please note that sparks points do not translate into cash value and cannot be spent in store.

    • What are Sparks events and how do I find out about them?

      When you reach 14,000 sparks, you will get the chance to be invited to the next event that is held in a store near you. Recent events have included fashion shows and food and wine tastings.

      Events run on a periodic basis, meaning there may not be one immediately available. 

      Full details of the event will be emailed to you. This email will include full details of the event, including location, timings, whether you can bring a friend and any RSVP details.

      If you are unable to attend an event that you have booked onto, there is no need to let us know.

    • Where do I find out more information on the Sparks prize draws?

      We will send you an email about the current prize draws. All information can be found here.

    • How do I cancel a Sparks eevent if I can no longer attend?

      We understand that plans can change so if you are invited to a Sparks event and are unable to attend, there is no need to let us know. We cannot change the dates so we hope to see you at another event soon.

    • How do I use my Sparks bonus offers?

      You need to activate your bonus offers in you Sparks account to use them. To do this, login to marksandspencer.com/sparks or go to the Sparks section on the M&S app on your phone. On the homepage, you will see a star in the black box at the top, or a ‘Surprise!’ message on the homepage. You can view and activate your bonus offer through either of these methods.

      The bonus offers available to you will appear, simply click ‘claim bonus’ to save the offer to your Sparks card/account.

      The offer will then be automatically applied to your account to use. In store, simply scan your card at the till and your offer will apply, or log in to your online account when making a purchase (depending on the offer type).

    • What is Sparks priority access and how do I access it?

      It's your chance to preview new collections and ranges as well as being able to shop the sale before anyone else. With priority access, you'll never miss out. You will receive an email when we have something for you to preview with all of the details you will need and a link to view the sale/promotion/collection you are invited to.

      You will need to collect a certain level of sparks to qualify for Priority Access.

      Priority Access – New Season Preview
      Collect 3000 sparks and you'll see our must-have items and new ranges ahead of others.

      Priority Access – Sale Preview Reach 5000 sparks and you can snap up the best sale items before anyone else.

    • How do I access Sparks offers if I am a non-digital customer?

      If you registered for Sparks without an email address, you will receive our quarterly mailers starting in April 2016. These contain a fantastic set of food and clothing offers that can be redeemed in our stores or online.

    • What are Sparks events and how do I find out about them?

      When you reach 14,000 sparks, you will get the chance to be invited to the next event that is held in a store near you. Recent events have included fashion shows and food and wine tastings.

      Events run on a periodic basis, meaning there may not be one immediately available. 

      Full details of the event will be emailed to you. This email will include full details of the event, including location, timings, whether you can bring a friend and any RSVP details.

      If you are unable to attend an event that you have booked onto, there is no need to let us know.

    • Can I use the app in store if I forget my Sparks card?

      A copy of your card will be stored within the app. To find it, log in to Sparks and tap on ‘My Account’ under Sparks. From here select ‘Your card’. Tap on the card to see your card details.

      In some of our stores, you’ll be able to scan the barcode directly from your phone at the till. In all other stores, the number can be typed in. 

    • Can I check my Sparks offers in store if I do not have the app available?

      If you do not have access to the app or your phone has ran out of battery, you can ask a customer assistant to check your offers using an in-store device (iPad or PC).
