What to try at M&S Food this month
Our expert product developers, chefs and producers are constantly on the lookout for innovative new flavours, the pick of seasonal produce, and irresistible treats to bring to the Foodhall, with hundreds of new arrivals on the shelves every month. The only problem? Deciding which to try first! Cue our edit of everything new, in season and trending right now in the Foodhall.
Think of this as your handy Foodhall checklist, full of must-try treats, time-saving ingredients and little pick-me-ups to make this month your most delicious yet.
1. The bigger the better
Meet The Giant Outrageously Chocolatey Milk Chocolate Coated Custard Cream. Outrageously chocolatey, unapologetically indulgent – and our biggest custard cream ever. At the centre, a classic vanilla custard cream. Around it, a generous layer of thick, silky milk chocolate, tipping the balance firmly towards chocolate over biscuit. Nostalgic yet over the top, it’s made for sharing… though we wouldn’t blame you if you kept it to yourself.
2. Spears of glory
Spring has officially sprung with the arrival of British asparagus in store. All our asparagus is now 100% British, with some sourced from the Chinn family’s farms in the beautiful Wye Valley. The area’s light, sandy soil and sheltered location provide the perfect conditions for growing exceptional asparagus, while the cooler climate allows the delicate flavours time to develop. Delicious stir‑fried with butter, garlic, lemon zest and a hint of chilli, asparagus makes an excellent side dish for spring and summer. It’s also wonderfully versatile, starring in everything from pastas and risottos to tarts and traybakes.
3. Must-try malt balls
Looking for the perfect film‑night treat? Our Pick ‘N’ Marks Milk Chocolate Malt Balls feature a light, crunchy malt centre wrapped in a thick layer of smooth Belgian milk chocolate, delivering the ultimate chocolate‑to‑malt ratio. They’re delicious straight from the bag, or try them crushed over ice cream, blended into milkshakes, mixed through homemade rocky road, or baked into brownies for extra crunch and chocolatey indulgence.
4. Feeling hawwwt hawwwt hawwwt
Step into the trend for all things "fricy", where heat meets sweetness, with our new range of Flamin’ Fruit Hawwwt Sauces — a bold new range that brings the heat and keeps it sweet.
Flamin’ Fruit Hawwwt Sauce Jalapeño, Bramley Apple and Lime: A bright, fruity kick that lifts burritos and cheesy nachos.
Flamin’ Fruit Hawwwt Sauce Habanero, Mango and Turmeric: Perfect for drizzling over halloumi flatbreads or pulled pork.
Flamin’ Fruit Hawwwt Sauce Chipotle, Pineapple and Garlic: Extra spicy, smoky and sweet, this one is made for crispy chicken wings, fish tacos, or grilled favourites.
5. A royal welcome
Grown exclusively on the island of Jersey, Jersey Royals are prized for their distinctive nutty flavour and buttery texture, thanks to the island’s mild climate and rich, fertile soil. Our first‑in‑season Jerseys are grown in glasshouses, allowing them to be harvested a little earlier and delivered fresh to an M&S Foodhall near you. They're delicious simply boiled and finished with butter and herbs, or used in curries, one-pan wonders or spring salads. Look out for our early‑season Jersey Royals in selected stores now.
6. Frozen fancies
Chocolate-coated fruit just got an upgrade. Perfectly ripe blueberries and raspberries are carefully selected for their natural sweetness, then double-dipped in silky white chocolate and rich 85% dark chocolate. Our strawberries are finished with a layer of white chocolate and smooth milk chocolate. Crafted with Italian, Fairtrade chocolate throughout, this range of Chocolate Fruits offers a beautifully balanced treat — smooth, sweet, and indulgently chocolatey, ready whenever your cravings hit.
7. Smoky stars
Bring the flavour of open-fire cooking to your table with these two new condiments. Our Campfire Smoky Mayo is rich and velvety, lifted by a subtle hint of mustard and a sprinkle of smoked salt, making it the perfect companion for burgers, kebabs and bacon sarnies. Alongside it, Campfire Sweetcorn Relish bursts with sweetness and warmth – golden kernels blended with smoky chipotle and fire-roasted red peppers for a vibrant, punchy flavour that transforms even the simplest dishes, from tacos and burritos to halloumi burgers and hot dogs.
8. Upgrade your oils
Step into effortless cooking with our new range of squeezy and spray oils — designed for flavour and everyday convenience.
Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Greek extra virgin olive oil in a handy squeezy bottle. Perfect for easy, controlled drizzling over salads, roasted vegetables and finished dishes.
Air Fryer Oil: A light avocado and olive oil spray blend designed for golden, crisp results. Perfect for air frying and roasting.
Mild and Buttery Olive Oil: A smooth, gently flavoured olive oil in an easy spray form. Designed for fuss-free cooking, roasting and frying.
