Cotton Rich Tie Waist Midi Shirt Dress

This is my first shirt dress and I particularly like the tailoring of the upper part of the garment; with clean lines across the shoulders and back yoke plus the size, shape and firmness of the collar which can so easily make (or break) an outfit. The tie belt loops are set too low for me but I will remove them and position the tie belt where it falls naturally on my waistline. This dress looks great with this season's M&S navy suede almond toe wedges. I also predict this will be an instant 'go-to' choice for travelling in hot conditions and can be easily 'tarted up' with bright costume jewellery. This was another sale purchase so a real snip at half price. Would like to see this style in other strong pastels please (eg cornflower blue) but the navy is just great and I like the buttons too.

I really wanted to like this dress as it is really hard to find cotton on linen dresses. I bought a size smaller as the reviews said it was big. It was still too baggy ,but the cut around the arm holes and sleeve setting meant that it pulled above the bust and it was difficult to raise the arms even though it was baggy around the bust and armpits. More natural fibers for dresses please.

Lovely material and shape that would suit most people. I wore it on a warm day at the races with silver jewellery and blue espadrilles. I felt confident and smart. Very pleased as it is a classic.

Bought this dress for travelling in hot climates, especially where they frown on shoulders, elbows and knees. So great to find a light weight stylish dress with long sleeves. These can be rolled up but won't fall foul of the censors! The fit and style are great. Fitted as hoped. I got the blue version and while not see through, it's not the old M&S quality on the material. It will be fine for travel and summer wear but I would have preferred a slightly heavier weight linen-like material. But hey, the dress is machine washable and that's a win too!.

I chose this and ordered on-line as I was looking for a basic summer dress which would fit a variety of occasions. One requirement I have begun to make when I buy clothes is that they're made of natural fibres. This is in a cotton/linen mix, which should be smart and cool. I like the style and the fit. If anything, maybe it is a little too long and the side splits reach a little too high up the leg, but I have no problem with the buttons which others have complained about! A nice wardrobe basic, which will hopefully get a lot of use.

I read reviews on this dress before I ordered it. I'm glad I did because I ordered the smaller size and even that is generous but I do like it. I don't agree with others about the material, I find it fine

Extremely nice dress, but SO long! Sadly the dress didn’t suit me and I returned it. True to size in everything except length. That is NOT a midi at your ankles!

Absolutely love this dress. I’d recommend going down a size. I wear mine without the belt as it suits my body shape better that way. Also bought in the white.
