Happily for everyone, the current NHS guidelines state that babies 12 months and older are welcome to eat two healthy snacks a day. NHS suggestions include fruit, vegetables, plain yogurt, dips, crackers, pasteurised full-fat cheese and any type of bread, including sandwiches. We’ve expanded on all of these below, because we know that summoning the idea is often the hardest part.

Several brands now cater to baby and toddlers snacks, with ‘no added salt’ and ‘no added sugar’ choices, their finger foods are marked with age recommendations for you to consider on pack. The NHS offers lots of food and snacking advice on their website. Click here to find out more.

Please note that the NHS states: "Babies under 12 months do not need snacks; if you think your baby is hungry in between meals, offer extra milk feeds instead".
