Velvet Pleated Skirt

I'd really hoped to like this but it didn't do anything for me, so I returned it.

The quality is excellent the material has a shimmering velvet. it's a very good quality,fits well lovely to touch & great to wear & very comfortable. It was much nicer than expected & it doesn't crease. As I had sat for several hours then sat on a bus after getting wet through & it still didn't have a single crease. Can't wait to wear it again.

I bought this skirt in black and only wish I had managed to snap up the other colour! Really comfortable to wear and beautiful quality. I absolutely love velvet and had been on the look out for a skirt like this so was so happy to find it, and for such a great price too! It's a slightly bigger fit so I chose to go a size down for a perfect finish.

This skirt is truly stunning. So pleased I bought it. It feels lovely to wear and looks fabulous on. The elastic waist makes it so comfortable to wear. Just wish it was available in more colours.

Bought this and would not normally go for longer skirt but it fits well and is very versatile. Can dress up or down with ankle boots and polo jumper. Love it

For the money this is great value and very comfortable. Wish it had been lined but good fit and ideal, being elasticated waist, for wearing Christmas Day!

Got this in the green just as it was new in. Great fit, very flattering. I am a 12 and it was true to size. It's an investment for my capsule wardrobe I haven't once regretted. Wore it so many ways so far - to a wedding with lacey blouse and pointy heels to Saturday out and about doing general jobs, with a polo sweater, biker jacket and block heel courts. I cycle around a lot and because it's velvet worn with tights keeps me warm. Always get compliments. I'm actually just popping on the site today getting the black too, and thought It most definitely deserves a review!

This skirt is a good length and very comfortable to wear

I like pleated skirts as they give more shape to my small hips so I ordered this when I saw it on line. I am 8/10 and the 8 fitted perfectly. The length at 30" was also perfect, the midi length that I have always preferred. In fact the style/fit was almost exactly the same as my 1980s pleated midis, a couple of which I still have, but updated by the velvet fabric. Being synthetic, the fabric does have a synthetic shine but you wouldn't want a real cotton velvet pleated as it would be far too heavy. The reason why I haven't given 5 stars was the quality of the sewing. I had to return the first one as the side seam was wrongly stitched so it hung out in a wide curve. The second one didn't have that fault but the seams are very uneven. Also on both skirts the back and front have been cut so the nappe of the fabric goes in opposite directions. This means it catches the light differently so, if you look down, one side looks grey and the other black. Although this is quite a major design fault, I decided it didn't show enough to affect the overall look so am keeping the skirt as it looks so nice on.

I ordered the skirt in cedar colour, it just didn't suit me at all. The colour was nice, so much better than black! I am size 14 and 5' 4" tall so maybe it would suit me if I were taller and slimmer. I just felt like a very old fashioned, old lady in it. I returned it the next day.
