Good quality but the waist was much bigger than stated. O buy lots of m&s trousers / jeans and never had anything so big in the waist.

I have had a lot of m and s jeans, but over the last couple of years they don't match the size on the lable. The 2 pairs i bought 2 weeks ago were at least 2 inches bigger in the waist and length and much looser on the thigh , not good. On this occasion i needed them quickly for work, otherwise i would have returned then . I am a 34 long, these were draging on the groung and loose on the waist. NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. BUCK YOUR IDEAS M AND S . More quality control needed

Dear Customer Services Team, I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding a serious issue with sizing consistency on a recent purchase of men’s jeans. I ordered two identical pairs of jeans — same style, same colour, same size (42” waist, 31” leg) — one for myself and one for my son. When they arrived, both labels clearly stated the same size. However, when tried on, one pair fitted perfectly while the other was noticeably too tight. To rule out error, I tried both pairs on myself and confirmed the same issue. We then laid the jeans flat on the floor and placed one over the other; it was immediately obvious that one pair was significantly smaller in the waist and overall cut, despite being labelled identically. We returned the smaller pair and kept the one that fitted. Unfortunately, there were no replacements available online in the same size, so we ordered the next closest alternative: a 44” waist with a 29” leg. These arrived today and fitted well. Out of curiosity and concern, we compared them directly with the original 42” pair that we had kept. To our surprise, when laid flat together, there is effectively no difference at all — the waist and leg measurements are the same. This raises serious concerns about quality control and sizing accuracy. A situation where: two jeans labelled the same size are clearly different, and a larger-labelled size is physically identical to a smaller one is not what customers expect from Marks & Spencer, a brand historically associated with reliability, consistency, and trust. I am not writing simply to complain, but to understand what has happened to sizing standards and whether this is being addressed. Accurate sizing is fundamental — especially for customers who rely on online ordering — and issues like this undermine confidence in the brand. I would appreciate a response explaining how this has occurred and what steps are being taken to ensure consistency going forward. I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive spirit intended.
