Lu P Lu Very disappointed, dries patchy and washes off ☹️ Really disappointed with this lotion. It's a gel which dries quickly and leaves darker and lighter patches. Rubbed off onto clothes after it had dried and then completely washed off in the shower the next morning, even though it was a self tan which should have developed after 4 hours. Such a shame as the self tan oil works well so will go back to that in future ☹️

Trendsetter0 Dark self tan but is a natural shade I stopped using it a few years ago because of the unpleasant, strong, typical self tan smell once it had developed. Was really pleased to find upon trying the Autotgraph version that it has hardly any unpleasant aroma, it’s almost imperceptible. I just apply fragranced body lotion to mask any slight trace. It develops well after a few hours which seems to be the standard time. Wish they worked quicker though. You achieve a streak free result if you dampen a tissue to wipe off the excess that accumulates on the elbows, knees, heels and knuckle areas. It says ‘dark’ tan and the liquid is a bitter chocolate colour which makes it easy to see where it’s been applied. Once rubbed in it’s a natural colour though and easily disappears if you wash your hands immediately, unlike other brands that leave a strong stain, whereas with this one I don’t even need to use a mitt applicator. All good so far then. The downside is it soon fades after showering, 2 days at the most before needing reapplication. Not particularly good staying power. At this price it’s not breaking the bank though. I’ve found worse brands that fade after one day.

MrsRGosling Not great This stuff goes on tinted and is easy to apply with a mitt. Fairly quick drying and smelt quite pleasant going on. I liked the fact you look tanned straight away and can dress after about 20 mins. It also didn’t stain my sheets. Unfortunately after washing off the next day I found it had not tanned my calves at all and my ankles were more tanned giving the appearance of orange socks. Not a great look. I always prep well and only lightly skimmed my ankles, feet etc so that wasn’t a factor. Shame as it was good value but I think I’ll stick with St Tropez from now on.
