Clumps and piles

Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this product.. I absolutely love Clinique and have a variety of products.. I've had this for 2 months now and it just doesn't blend well, it clumps and piles no matter how I use it.. I've tried on bare skin, on moisturised skin, a tiny amount, larger amount, I even tried applying it with a brush.. no matter what I try it just sits on my skin in piles. Really disappointed.

Bitterly Disappointed
No, I don't recommend this
I had such high hopes for this product. Used immediately after moisturising with Redness Solutions Moisturiser. The Protective Base felt tacky on the skin & formed little green balls. Not a good base to apply foundation! As it was quite expensive will try to find a way to use it, maybe wait an hour or so after moisturising ?!?!

Product starts to become tacky on the skin and can be rolled off! Awful. Other Products on the market do a much better job. Rest of the range is amazing though.

Does not do as it says
As this is a good make I was looking forward to using it. However I found it did little to hide red patches so have gone back to my original cream.

Product does reduce redness but not totally. However, will continue to use. 3 stars given due to expensive price but a little goes a long way

Green clumps

Was recommended by a clinique advisor to purchase this to hide rosacea, tried it a few times after apply dramatically different gel and it just clumps into green balls all over your face. Tried it without moisturiser, still clumps. Tried using a lesser amount, still clumps. Horrible product and wish I didn't waste my money:

This product just pills up if you use it after moisturising - turning into little clumps on your face. It's a bit better if you use it without moisturiser but as rosacea skin is generally dryer, you need the moisturiser underneath. You're better off with the redness solutions moisturiser and regular sunscreen.

We appreciate your feedback it is important to us. This is a sheer oil-free protective base that will soften the look of flushed skin, and also persistent redness too. When applying you need a small amount after you have applied your moisturiser and smooth over the skin. The product should not clump and as sheer is should glide on easily over your moisturiser too. Of course if you are unhappy with this product you can have a a full refund, I recommend to contact out Customer Services Team on 0808 281 0226.

I am 35 and have rather Rosie cheeks. As an avid Clinique product user, this one is not recommended by me. I have tried a few other their redness solution products and I have found none of them cover my redness.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. This protective base offers sun protection and with a green hue it helps to tone redness down, however it won't completely disappear. It does also include treatment ingredients to soothe and calm the skin, to work alongside our Redness Solutions range too, depending on the degree of the redness.

Helps mask the redness

With very sensitive skin, I was a little apprehensive about using the Redness Solutions products, but after three weeks of use, I'm getting the hang of / feeling more confident in using them. The Daily Protective Base - realised you only need to apply a small amount, and blend over your face carefully. Some people have said its "too green" on the skin, but if you use a small amount and blend well... its not too green and helps mask the redness on the face.

I've always suffered with redness on my face , it always made me look out of breath or unfit - however this product completely hides it , I was nervous to buy because of the price however one tube will last me almost a year! Plus Clinique often do a offer where you buy 2 products and get a free makeup bag and samples for free , I definitely think this is a good buy. You'll never regret choosing this product. I think I might try some of the other products from the range too ! Plus it hasn't given me any acne !! Ask your local Clinique for a sample bottle before buying

Really makes my skin look so much better underneath my make up. It is quite thick as stated in previous reviews so you need to make sure it is all rubbed in properly but I feel the thickness is necessary to give good coverage.

I have acne rosacea and was at my most desperate when I tried this product. (I bought it, I didn't receive it free as suggested below, that's a website review glitch). Things you should know: its fragrance free and oil free so sufferers can use this with confidence. I've found that because this product is so thick it's problematic in itself but don't be put off. 1. Use it after the redness solutions cleanser and moisturiser, which are both mild enough for every day, twice a day even for my hateful, hateful red skin. This will help keep the dead skin cells at bay and stop the caking on the forehead and around the nose. 2. Apply it with a beauty blender so you're not pushing it into the skin with your fingers. You can layer it to get a thicker coverage. Finally, if you're still unsure, take a pot to the Clinique counter and ask for a sample. I use the entire redness range and now I'm so clear of rosacea I'm able to use the moisture surge. It still takes management but relief is key and this range gave it to me in spades. I tried every natural based product, every rosacea be free claiming product and every British brand and many many many other French ones. If you have rosacea start here, with this range and for breakouts just add savlon and the redness pressed powder. Note: these products are not for your eczema red face; you need moisture, lots of it, repeatedly. Try moisture surge or cx.

Having used redness solutions products for many years I brought this and disliked it immediately. It was heavy and thick with a greasy substance which made it hard to apply, and sat uncomfortably on top of my skin, it not helped my skin at all and I regret ever buying it

I suffer from redness on my chin. It really does bother me. I use this base under my foundation, i have to put it on first and leave it a while to dry in a bit. It certainly does take away the redness, not fully but enough to give me more confidence. My only draw back is its really thick, maybe i am applying too much. I would recommend this.

I have VERY sensitive and pale skin with a few red patches here and there and this does help to ease the redness slightly. I just don't like the consistency as it feels like I'm trying to spread toothpaste on my face and I find that it does have a tendency to separate and look a little patchy even without makeup on top, especially in the dryer areas. It's much thicker than I expected. I tend to just tap a little on the excessively red areas of my face when I feel like I really need it as it doesn't feel overly pleasant on my skin.
