Looks and feels lovely

Yes, I recommend this
This item arrived in a very crumpled state and wasn't packaged as well as I think it should have been. The fit is true to size, great length (I'm only 5ft 2ins) but the sleeves are too long by about six inches. That said, I love it and feel glamorous and rather special when I wear it, it reminds me of a 1940's movie star. However I think it is a bit over priced so for that reason only awarded 4 stars.

NOT a £200 item of clothing. Very poor quality. Returned straight away. A total waste of money for what should have been a lovely present for my wife.

A lovely dressing gown for warmer weather but disappointing as only the top part of the back is silk lined so I decided to return it.

Lovely gown if looked after properly
Average rating: 5 out of 5

Yes, I recommend this
This gown is lovely and something like out of the movies if you can and know how to look after it properly. It also makes an amazing gift! It looks luxurious and feels it too! Would love to have it in a different length and array of colours! Make sure YOU ONLY DRY CLEAN IT AND STEAM IRON IT. IF YOU DON'T then the below happens It is expensive but, it is important to know what you are getting. It is made out of velour which generally is quite an expensive type of textile and is fragile. This gown can't be washed in water (neither machine nor hand wash really) and I know that from experience. I bought the same gown from M&S years ago in a different colour. I used to wash it on the most gentle cycle and it just did't look good after at all and you can't iron it properly either as it will lose the soft deep texture that it has when new. Over time it became too brittle and ripped badly. I know that it sounds like a horror story with an added £200 price tag. If you don't do the morning fry up in it and only dry clean it now and then you will enjoy the feeling of luxury on your shoulders each time you put it on.

Treat High Priced Items to Better Packaging Please

Saw one of these dressing gowns in a small size in a Marks store (probably a return as you can only buy online) and thought it looked lovely, if expensive. As there was 30% off on gifting weekend and I also had some loyalty vouchers to put towards one, I ordered one. Firstly, I was disappointed in the packaging as it just came in a dusty(!!) bag and was terribly creased as though it had been squashed by heavy parcels. I was expecting it to have come in a box reflecting a high priced quality item. I've received other orders in boxes. Secondly, I was disappointed that on the description it states silk lining, but the lining is just on the back to waistcoat length, not the whole garment. I wouldn't call that lining. I hadn't looked inside the one I saw in store, just the outside. The fit is fine on me, just the right length and I do like the apricot trim. It looks lovely on the photos online too. Am actually undecided whether I'm keeping it (and ironing it!) or returning it as the bad packaging, bad creases and lack of full lining have taken the shine off a luxury item. P.s. Bought the last Briggate Mac in my size in Manchester Marks the other week and love it!! Marks has that sooooo right.

I'm very fond of m&s so it pains me to say this, but I thought item looked and felt poor quality- not up to standard- cheap synthetic shiny feel and appearance. Have already returned. Would not have bought if had seen in shop - sorry but quality seems to be going downhill.

I bought this expecting a very special replacement for my current £40.00 Autograph velour gown. Expecting significant silk...as per the description.. It is identical to my old one except the trim is beige silk not black. Completely over priced for what it is and promptly returned. M&S seems to be losing the plot a bit lately. Very disappointed.

ordered this dressing gown in a 14 and 16 to make sure I got one, had a 20% Dis with my sparks card, they arrived today, I am keeping the 14, lovely dressing gown, well worth the money, really good quality fabric, down side a little long in length and I am 5'4' so will have to take off when going up stairs, other wise I am very pleased, and I did save £40, get one before they sell out.

I bought this dressing gown last year. It is lovely, but vastly over priced. No way is it worth £200. I would say, about £60-£70. I enjoy wearing it as it looks good, but I really hate the fact that I paid such a lot for it. It does not wash well either. A big disappointment.
