Hastings Ivory Blanket Box

This would be a good piece of furniture for a guest bedroom and provides useful storage. Unfortunately when unpacked it had some slight damage to the corner of the lid and also one of the hinges wasn’t screwed on properly so it didn’t close evenly. Have sorted this ourselves but still have the chipped surface. This would have been noted by the delivery men if they had unpacked the box but due to coronavirus restrictions we had to unpack and dispose of packaging ourselves. Returning seems such a hassle so will probably keep it. Overall a little disappointing really for M&S.

Lovely addition to the Hastings furniture I already have. Storage space is great and the lid lifts and closes effortlessly.

Lovely style, I have brought it to place below my tv which is hanging on the wall. Love that it is already built, no fuss, just unpack. Wish it came in all of the hastings colours. Excellent value for money.

I bought this blanket box to match other items of furniture I have from the Hastings range. It’s a good quality piece of furniture that looks nice at the end of my bed and it’s spacious too. I’m very pleased with this new addition to my bedroom.

I love this blanket box, it,s so well made and is perfect....the only problem is it only comes in white!! The delivery was faultless, the men were helpful and polite, but that is what we expect from M & S, thankyou.

The blanket box I received is great, good size and quality. to match chest of draws and bedside cabinets.

The aesthetics of the blanket box are pleasing and true to the online pictures / description but the quality of the finished product is poor. Metal hinges secured with screws affix the lid to the base in addition to gas struts, which aid the softened open/close mechanism. The second time the lid was carefully opened it lifted the screwed hinges out from the base. It was clear the screw threads were not adequate, relative to the size and weight of lid they were supporting. An engineer recommended by M&S repaired the hinge with stronger screws but was unable to supply a replacement for the the gas hinge which had been bent in the process and now makes a clunking sound every time the lid is closed. I have purchased other furniture from M&S as I had trusted the brand would provide good service and value for money. This hasn’t been my experience with their supply and subsequent management of this faulty product. Very disappointed.

I like the Hastings range - I have the beds and chest of drawers and have always been happy with the quality. I bought the box to complete the range to use for general storage. I was very disappointed when I received the box to find 2 very large pre-driiled holes in the base....about 4-6 inches in diameter, so this cannot be used for general storage as smaller items will just fall through. These holes are not mentioned on the website at all. If I had known I would not have purchased the item.

Absolutely wonderful blanket box. Beautifully made and amazing value. I'd buy another one but can't fit it in my house! The hinges under the lid are of superior quality and lid opens very smoothly. Great storage space - fits loads in. Good heavy weight wood and lovely paint finish. Really excellent. Also delivery times were very precise so no hanging around waiting. Altogether a really good experience and i would definitely look at M & S again for furniture.

Unfortunately not a happy experience . First delivery men unpleasant - rushing did not want to give me time to check items . Driver honking the van horn , on phone to other man - answer from him- running commentary about me looking at box and chest of drawers . Inside the box it was splintered at the sides and the back also where the numerous holes were . "Technician "who came to adjust drawer on chest of drawers - decided to sit on blanket box to complete his paperwork - and left a dent & scratch . Otherwise blanket box had at least looked good . Second try - delivery men presentable and pleasant but very early . Blanket box- faults at front and even more splintered inside & back . M&S refused a third time lucky try & offered refund . A shame because box superficially looked good & handy for clothing . But the call centre staff , did appear to consider I was fussy in not accepting splinted furniture .
