What are blueberries good for?

Juicy, firm and sweet, blueberries are a great source of vitamins and minerals, like vitamin C and iron, which help to support the function of our immune system, as well as vitamin K and calcium, which help to keep our bones strong. A popular breakfast favourite, blueberries also have anthocyanins, which are said to support heart health and cognitive function, too.

Blueberries are easy to snack on, perfect for lunchboxes, and taste delicious whizzed up into a smoothie, cooked into pancakes or stirred into porridge. Good news, considering an 80g serving of blueberries counts as one of your 5-a-day.

When are blueberries in season?

There are many different varieties of blueberries that grow all over the world. British blueberries are in season in the summer months, between June and September, so make sure to get them at their best.
