The ultimate guide to the best mince pies

Our talented chefs have tasted well over 150 mince pies to bring you a pie for every taste this year, trialling hundreds of pastry recipes and tweaking the fillings to get them just right. Every pie is packed with delicious additions, from the caramelised sugar in the pastry for our Collection Mince Pies to the crumbliest, richest vegan pastry in our Plant Kitchen Mince Pies. For those who aren’t mince pie purists, there are pies filled with sloe gin crumble, chocolatey pies adorned with Rodney Reindeer, and frangipane and-crumble-topped mince pies. After our Gingerbread and White Chocolate Cookies took social media by storm last year, we knew we had to turn those flavours into a mince pie. Look out for our brand-new Gingerbread Blondie Cookie Cup Pies, in store from 15 October, a mincemeat-free treat full of festive cheer. Searching for a gorgeous gluten-free mince pie? We’ve got you. Our Made Without Wheat Mince Pies, in store from 3 November, are made with a crumbly, all-butter gluten-free pastry that’s filled with our classic mincemeat, spiced with dried vine fruits like Vostizza currants, sultanas and raisins, and candied peel. They’re topped with a festive pastry star and a dusting of icing sugar, and taste wonderful warm.

Our chefs have created three wow-worthy toppings for our Collection mince pies this year. There’s a rich, indulgent swirl of brandy buttercream crowning our Collection Brandy Butter Mince Pies (in store from 15 October), which tastes like a mince pie with a dollop of brandy butter in one. Our Collection Frangipane Mince Pies (in store from 3 November) are topped with a soft almond frangipane and flaked almonds, and our Sloe Gin Crumble Mince Pies have a crunchy crumble and sloe gin and cranberries spiking the traditional juicy mincemeat filling. They’re all made with our signature Collection all-butter pastry with caramelised sugar and Wildfarmed flour.
