Sharpen up your wardrobe with this effortlessly chic outfit. The oversized proportions and slouchy fit tick all the need-it-now boxes

Just when we thought we’d run out of excuses for wanting another suit, this glorious corduroy set landed in our laps and had us all frantically adding to our shopping lists. (The fact it’s been given the style seal of approval by fashion maestro Alexandra Fullerton – pictured left – is perhaps half the reason for that.) Both the singled-breasted blazer and the straight-leg trousers are crafted from thick cotton corduroy, making both pieces ideal for layering with lighter summer pieces, to extend their shelf-life into autumn. If, like us, you find yourself craving luxuriously heavy fabrics as soon as the weather becomes even mildly autumnal, this suit is for you. The vintage-inspired shape and earthy colour palette (it also comes in mustard, grey and winter white) signal the promise of blustery days ahead, full of long walks and afternoons cosied up in cafés.
