Sparks is the Marks and Spencer plc (‘M&S’) members’ club (‘the Club’). It comprises a range of preferential benefits and offers to its members.
You must be 18 years of age or over and a UK resident for the entire period for which you are a member. No corporate or business use or membership. Please note that staff may be excluded from certain events, prize draws and experiences. See individual terms and conditions for more information and qualification.
Activation and Registration
Your Club membership is not transferable once activated. Activate and register your card at marksandspencer.com/sparks with your membership card number, and email address to receive your benefits and offers. If you do not have a valid email address, you can register by calling 0333 014 8423. You will need to provide a valid mobile or land line number and postal address. Without a valid email address, you will not receive all the regular offers and benefits associated with the Club. It is your responsibility to ensure that all your personal details are kept up to date and M&S will not be responsible for any lost, delayed or undeliverable communications if you do not do so.
How the Club works
Collection of sparks: receive 1 ‘spark’ per 10p spent at Marks & Spencer stores in England, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland (excluding BP Connect stores) and online at marksandspencer.com (excluding made to measure shirts, personalised cards, your school uniform service, international websites, name tapes, all corporate orders, gift cards and other non M&S branded product purchases made in non-M&S owned or operated stores or websites, all M&S Bank and M&S Energy products and services). Locations and services may be extended or reduced at our discretion. Purchases of M&S gift cards in participating M&S stores and at marksandspencer.com, will qualify for collection of sparks. Purchases made by M&S Gift card, gift voucher, or M&S Bank loyalty reward voucher (in whole or part) will qualify for collection of sparks. Minimum spend value of £1 to qualify for first 10 sparks in every transaction. 1 spark awarded for every complete 10p spent in any qualifying transaction and the number of sparks is rounded to the nearest multiple of 10p. Sparks will be awarded on net basket value, after any discounts and promotions have been applied. For every transaction in store and online you will receive 10 “transaction” sparks if the value of your transaction is £1 or more. Any refunds will be reflected in your Sparks balance, except for your “transaction” Sparks which are unaffected by subsequent partial refunds and exchanges. Sparks cannot be exchanged for cash, gift vouchers or gift cards.
Rewards and benefits of the Club
As a member you will benefit from offers and promotions personalised for you. Inclusions and exclusions will apply and may change. You may qualify for a birthday treat (if you also provided a valid email address and date of birth) and exclusive access to sale previews and new collections. Timing and value of all benefits at the discretion of M&S. M&S will donate 1p to your chosen cause for each transaction you make with us. 1p per transaction is donated by Marks and Spencer plc to The Charities Aid Foundation (registered charity number 268369) which will, in its discretion pass on your donation to your chosen cause. To do this, you must select a cause from a selected list of Charities or good causes when registering. You may change your chosen cause at any time throughout your period of membership.
You can terminate your Club membership at any time online at marksandspencer.com within your account or by calling 0333 014 8423. On termination any and all benefits accrued will be lost. We can terminate your Club membership immediately if at any time, you are, or we reasonably suspect you may be, acting fraudulently or in breach of these terms. If your membership has been inactive for 12 months we will review it and in our discretion choose to suspend your account.
Making changes to the Club
We can make changes to the eligibility requirements, the benefits and the terms of the Club at any time if we believe the change is to your advantage or, in our reasonable discretion, is required for the continuing administration of the Club. Material changes will be communicated to you via SMS, email or postal communication. We reserve the right to withdraw or cancel the Club at any time giving members seven days’ notice of termination in writing (via email or postal communications). These terms correct as of April 2019. Current terms are available at marksandspencer.com, which prevail in the case of any difference with these printed terms.

The laws of England and Wales apply to these terms and our dealings with you in connection with the Club. The terms are in English and any communications we send to you will be in English.
Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms will affect or reduce your statutory rights. Please call 0333 014 8555 if you would like to receive these terms in an alternative format such as large print, Braille or audio. Calls may be recorded for security, training and monitoring purposes. 03 numbers are charged at the same rate as a standard 01 or 02 landline number, even when from a mobile.
