What are Sparks offers, and how do they work?
Sparks offers give members personalised opportunities to earn rewards as they shop.
How do I see my current Sparks offers?
Check your Sparks offers when you log into your Sparks on your app or the M&S website. Make sure you have opted in to receive emails and turned on push notifications, so you never miss an update.
How are Sparks offers chosen for me?
They are personalised based on your shopping habits and preferences across M&S. They’re designed to reward you with the things you already love and introduce you to products we think you’ll love.
I can’t see anything new when I log into Sparks?

How do I get my Sparks Birthday Treat?
If you’ve already updated your profile with your date of birth, then you’ll receive a birthday treat in your Sparks at the start of your birthday month. Haven't added your date of birth yet? Update your personal details in your M&S account or visit marksandspencer.com/birthday
Please note, if you add your date of birth within 35 days of your birthday, you may not receive a treat this year. All birthday treats are also subject to availability.
Make sure you're opted in to Sparks marketing so we can let you know when your treat arrives. Check your preferences in your M&S account to choose how you would like to hear from us.
Do I get a special Sparks birthday treat as an M&S Credit Card holder?
If your M&S account includes your date of birth and you’re signed up to Digital Rewards on your M&S Credit Card, you’ll be invited to choose from our premium range of birthday treats. Just make sure your date of birth is added at least 35 days before your birthday month. It takes a little time for our records to update, so if you've only recently added it, you may not receive a treat this year.
How do I start collecting hot drink stamps to get a free hot drink?
Simply scan the QR code in an M&S Café to start collecting stamps every time you buy a hot drink exclusively on the M&S app. You can collect stamps at M&S Cafés, M&S Coffee Shops, coffee on Bakery, Marketplace and vended coffee machines.
Collect 6 stamps and your 7th drink is free. Once you've redeemed your free drink, you can start collecting again. See full T&Cs for details.
Have any changes been made to Sparks Clubs?
No, the Parent hood will stay exactly the same. You’ll still enjoy all the perks, offers, and support designed for parents. .
How to earn
How to earn
How do I complete an offer?
Firstly, you’ll need to activate your offer, by clicking ‘Activate offer’. You can then see what’s included and whether it needs to be completed in a single transaction or completed across multiple transactions. Once you’ve shopped and reached the spend target, your offer is then complete and you’ve earned your reward.
What happens if I don’t complete a Sparks offer?
If you don’t complete an offer before it expires, you won’t receive the reward. Make sure you’re opted into receiving emails as we’ll send you progress updates and reminders, so you don’t miss out.
Why is my reward balance pending?
When you purchase fashion, home or beauty items your reward will show as pending for 14 days to allow for any returns you may want to make. If you complete a purchase with our partner Virgin, this will also show as pending, find out more info below in the Virgin section.
How long after I complete my offer will my reward balance update?
It can take up to five minutes for Sparks to register you have completed your offer. For Food purchases, your wallet balance updates straight away. For Fashion, Home and Beauty, the reward will show as pending for 14 days.
Do all purchases count towards completing a Sparks offer?
Only purchases that meet the offer’s specific requirements count. Check the offer details of the specific offer for inclusions and exclusions.
How do I know what’s included in my offers when I’m shopping online or instore?
Tap on any offer in your Sparks to see included and excluded categories.
Can I see my progress on active Sparks offers?
Yes, for offers that can be completed over multiple transactions, you will see progress tracked on the offer card in your Sparks, so you always know how much more you need to spend to complete the offer.
What happens if I shop in store instead of online?
Offers on fashion, home and beauty apply across all channels, so both instore and online purchases count if they meet the offer criteria. Food offers apply in store only, unless the offer specifically includes Food or Flowers online. Check individual offer T&C for details.
I had an offer, but it has disappeared. Can I get it back?
All offers have a defined end date after which the offer will no longer be available. Activating an offer does not alter this expiration date. If you previously had an offer that is no longer available, it has likely expired.
Do I need to activate Sparks offers, or are they automatic?
All offers will need to be activated by simply tapping 'Activate offer' and then they will be ready to shop.
Will reduced products be included towards my offers?
Fashion, Home and Beauty sale items and reductions do count towards your offers. Food seasonal sale items (Red Ticket) are also included. However, products with a yellow sticker won't count towards your offer spend.
Do transactions using Scan & Shop count?
Yes, they do. Log into Sparks to use Scan & Shop on your device or using instore barcode scanners, and this will automatically be tracked. You must ensure all offers have been activated before you log into Scan and Shop to ensure your spend counts towards the offer.
When shopping at M&S Outlet stores will my spend count towards any offers?
When shopping in an M&S Outlet store, not all products will count towards your offer spend, however, you can spend your Sparks rewards in all M&S Outlet stores.
I’ve bought products I think are included in my offer but it has not updated?
Please check the exclusions of the specific offer to ensure the product is included. If it definitely should be then please reach out to the contact centre on 0333 014 8000 who will be able to support.
How to redeem
How to redeem
What can I spend my rewards on?
You can spend your rewards across M&S, whether that’s Food, Fashion, Home or Beauty - Instore or Online. Spend when you like, on what you love. T&C’s apply.
How do I spend the money in my Sparks wallet?
Watch our handy video for a quick step-by-step guide. Just tap ‘Spend’, pick the amount you’d like to use, and enter the 6-digit security code we’ll send you. Once that’s complete, the amount will then be added to your Sparks card. Then next time you shop with Sparks, your reward will automatically be applied to your next shop when you spend the same or higher value –whether you’re shopping in store or online. Don't forget to scan your Sparks card in store.
Do my rewards come off my next shop or can I save them?
No, your rewards won't come off automatically. They stay in your digital Sparks wallet until you choose to use them, so you can save them up for as long as you like before they expire. When you're ready to spend, pick the amount you'd like to load onto your Sparks card (please read the FAQ on how to spend for details on how to do this). It can be any amount. You don't have to load the full balance. Once loaded, that amount will come off at the till on your next shop, as long as your basket is equal to or higher than the amount you've loaded.
If I add money to my Sparks card after I have scanned it but before I complete the transaction, will the value be taken off at the till?
We recommend loading your selected value onto your Sparks card before you start shopping. This ensures the reward is applied to your transaction.
Do my rewards expire?
Rewards expire at the end of the quarter (March, June, September or December) in the year after they were earned. For example, if you earn your reward in January 2027, you have until the end of March 2028 to redeem.
This gives you 12–15 months to use them, so you’ll have plenty of time to save up for a special purchase or put towards your Christmas shopping.
How long does it take to link a physical card to a digital Sparks account?
When you link your physical card to your digital account it may take 2-3 days. During this time you will still earn towards any offers that are activated but you cannot spend your wallet balance or redeem any free treats using your physical card. You can use your digital card though.
I don't have access to a smart phone; can I still enjoy all the perks of Sparks?
Yes. You can access your account on a computer or tablet to activate offers and load money to your Sparks card. You will, however, need to register a mobile number to your Sparks account to receive a 6-digit security code each time you want to load rewards from your Sparks wallet onto your Sparks card to spend. This is to keep your rewards secure.
I don't have access to a smart phone, tablet or computer; can I still enjoy the perks of Sparks?
Yes. You’ll still get lots of Sparks perks using just your physical Sparks card, like giving a charity donation and getting a Birthday treat.
However, you will need access to a computer or tablet to access your Sparks wallet - this is to keep your rewards secure. If you need help, call our customer service team on 0333 014 8000 and they’ll be able to support you.
How much can I load onto my Sparks card?
You can load between £1-£100. It must be whole pounds, i.e. £5.00, not £4.50.
Once loaded, the amount can’t be changed, and you can’t add anymore until you’ve spent what’s already on your Sparks card.
Once you’ve spent what’s on your Sparks card, you’re free to top it up again ready for your next purchase.
What happens if I load my Sparks card with a higher amount than I wanted to spend?
The loaded reward will remain on your Sparks card until your basket is equal to, or more than the amount loaded on the Sparks card. It will then automatically redeem on your next purchase of equal or greater value when you swipe or are logged in to Sparks.
I’ve loaded some of my Sparks rewards to my Sparks card. Will it automatically come off my next shop?
Yes. Loaded rewards will automatically be taken off your purchase balance when you swipe or are logged in to Sparks, as long as your basket total is equal to (or more than) the reward amount. If the basket value is lower than the amount loaded onto your Sparks card, the balance will stay on your Sparks card and will be applied to your next transaction of equal or greater value.
Can I spend towards a target and use my wallet balance at the same time? e.g. ‘Spend £10 on biscuits and get £2 in my wallet’, and spend my £5 reward in the same transaction – plus earn the £2?
Your offer spend is based on the final amount you pay (e.g. with cash or credit card), after any Sparks rewards have been applied. If your basket has multiple items, the reward value is split proportionally across everything in your basket, so it may reduce how much counts towards a specific offer.
For example: You have a 'Spend £10 on biscuits, earn £2' offer and £5 loaded on your Sparks card. Your basket is £10 biscuits + £10 other groceries = £20. After your £5 reward is applied, you pay £15. Because the reward is split proportionally across your basket, only £7.50 counts towards biscuits, so the offer wouldn't be complete.
Returns
Returns
What happens if I return an item that was used to complete an offer?
If you return the item before the offer expires:
The reward will be removed, and the offer will be reinstated so you can continue earning toward it. The original offer expiry period still applies. If you return the item after the offer has expired:
The reward you earned will be removed from your wallet or from a pending state.
Any qualifying products bought as part of the offer will still count towards earning the reward.
What happens if I used my Sparks reward on an item I decide to return?
If you return an item, your refund will go back to your original payment method (including any Sparks rewards used). The Sparks reward will return to your wallet within 24 hours. Your reward value will be split across the different items in the transaction and as such if you return part of the original transaction you will get part of the reward refunded to wallet.
What happens if I return products in the Channel Islands or Republic of Ireland that were bought in the UK using Sparks rewards?
Any value owed to you from the return will be issued via a credit note in the Channel Islands and ROI rather than back to your Sparks wallet.
I want to exchange an item I bought that contributed to an offer, will I still get my reward?
If the exchange happens while the offer was still valid (within the offer dates) then yes however if it is after the offer has expired then the purchase will not count towards the offer completion and the reward earned will be removed from your wallet.

Visit Sparks on the M&S app or at www.marksandspencer.com/sparks regularly for new opportunities to earn rewards.
Earning rewards into your digital Sparks wallet
The digital Sparks wallet will show your pending and earned rewards along with any spent rewards. Once earned, your reward will remain live in your digital Sparks wallet for a minimum of 12 months. Rewards expire at the end of the quarter (March, June, September or December) in the year after they were earned. For example, if you earn your reward in January 2027, you have until the end of March 2028 to redeem.
Spending rewards from your digital Sparks Wallet
When you’re ready to spend some or all of your reward balance, you can load rewards from your digital Sparks wallet to your Sparks card. Simply click ‘SPEND’ on your digital Sparks wallet and enter the value you wish to apply towards your next purchase online or in-store. You can only load one amount at a time, (minimum £1 to a maximum of £100 in whole pound increments, e.g. £5, not £4.50). The amount you’ve loaded will be shown on your Sparks card when it is ready to spend. Only when this balance is spent, can you then load anything further. It’s important to remember that once you’ve loaded an amount onto your Sparks card, the value can’t be changed. Only add an amount when you’re sure you’re ready to use the full amount you’ve loaded.
Rewards can only be loaded online on the M&S website or via the M&S mobile app by logging into Sparks. For extra security, before you can apply the reward, we will send you a security text with a 6-digit number to your registered mobile phone number to approve the redemption, so make sure you have this with you. This is to keep your rewards secure.
The loaded reward will remain on your Sparks card until your basket is equal to, or more than the amount loaded on the Sparks card. It will then automatically redeem on your next purchase of equal or greater value when you swipe or shop online logged in to your account.
Any value spent from your digital Sparks wallet will not contribute towards Sparks offer spend targets.
Refund of a product used to complete a mission
If you return the item before the offer expires the reward will be removed, and the offer will be reinstated so you can continue earning toward it. The original offer expiry period still applies.
If you return the item after the offer has expired the reward you earned will be removed from your wallet or from a pending state.
Any qualifying products bought as part of the offer will still count towards earning the reward.
Refund of a product bought with Sparks reward
Should you need to make a return on an item purchased in part or in full with Sparks rewards, your refund will be returned with the same payment method used during the purchase. This means your reward will be returned to your digital Sparks wallet within 24 hours to be used again on a future purchase with M&S.
M&S Credit Card
M&S credit card full terms and conditions can be found here.
M&S credit card rewards
If you have connected your M&S rewards credit card to your Sparks membership, then your credit card reward vouchers will show in the Sparks section of the M&S app. These can be redeemed by tapping the ‘view‘ button, which will present the barcode that must be scanned in-store at the payment stage or applied at the payment stage for any UK M&S online purchases.
M&S credit card reward vouchers can be used as payment towards completing Sparks offers. Credit card reward vouchers balances will be shown and redeemed separately to Sparks rewards.
Scan and Shop
Sparks will enable you to use M&S Scan & Shop devices (where available) in store. If you use this service, you agree to the following:
You agree to use Scan and Shop with reasonable care, and not to cause damage to the Scan and Shop handsets.
You agree that you will scan all items selected by you before putting them into your shopping basket. On occasion, some items may not be recognised by the handset, and you agree to draw these items to the cashiers’ attention so that they can be scanned and charged at the end of your shop.
Loose items, such as fruit and vegetables, should be weighed using the scales provided in store. You will be asked to place your items on the scale and to search for the correct item on the screen. The printed barcode should then be attached to the items and scanned using the handset. Items containing a security tag should be scanned and placed to one side in your basket or trolley. An M&S colleague will remove the security tag at checkout. Some items will not display a barcode due to lack of space and so you will need to scan the shelf edge ticket. Please look out for the tickets which will make clear which items this applies to.
We operate a Challenge 25 policy and baskets containing age restricted items will require approval at the checkout by an M&S colleague.
You agree that your shopping may be rescanned at random intervals or at any time required by M&S. A rescan does not imply any wrongdoing on your part. If there is a difference between your scan and the rescan, the rescan will apply. M&S reserves the right to refer the matter to the police when it is considered that misuse of Scan and Shop has taken place.
To complete your Scan and Shop transaction you must make payment at the designated checkout area. You agree to pay the total shown at checkout or following a rescan, as appropriate. Deductions for promotions will be shown as you shop. The final deductions for promotions or coupons will be updated at the checkout before payment. In the event that there is a discrepancy between the price shown on the handset and at the checkout, the price at the checkout will apply.
M&S reserves the right to: (i) vary these Terms and Conditions and/or the Scan and Shop service and (ii) withdraw the Scan and Shop service, at any time without notice. The decision of M&S in all matters shall be final and binding.
Charity
Upon registration to Sparks, M&S will donate 1p (one pence) to your chosen cause for each transaction you make with us, excluding refunds. This donation is made to the Charities Aid Foundation (registered charity number 268369) who will, in its discretion, pass on your donation to your chosen cause. From 10th October 2023 any new or existing members that have not selected a Sparks supported charity or good cause at registration will have their donations automatically sent to Young Minds (registered charity numbers 1016968 & SC039700). You may change your chosen cause at any time by logging into the M&S App or M&S website, visiting Sparks and clicking the ‘Change Charity’ link under your chosen charity. From time to time, M&S may increase the value or frequency of charity or good cause donations as part of a time limited campaign or activity. M&S will give notice to Sparks members of these campaign or activities via in-store and online marketing messages.
Termination
You can terminate your account online at marksandspencer.com within your account by giving us notice. On termination, all Benefits accrued will be lost.
We can terminate your account immediately if at any time, you are, or we reasonably suspect you may be, acting fraudulently, criminally or are otherwise in breach of these Terms and Conditions. If your account has been inactive for 12 months or you have duplicate accounts under the same Sparks member identification number, we will review it and, in our discretion, may choose to suspend your account. If your account has been inactive for 4 years or more, then we may, at our discretion, terminate your Sparks account. Please note that, if your Sparks account is terminated, any Sparks Pay account that you have entered with Marks & Spencer Financial Services plc ("Sparks Pay") will also be terminated.
Programme availability and conditions
Benefits may change from time to time, they are subject to availability and may be substituted by M&S. Benefits are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
For the avoidance of doubt, the promoter of the Benefits is Marks and Spencer plc, Waterside House, 35 North Wharf Road, London, W2 1NW.
M&S shall have no liability for any delay and/or failure to perform any obligation to the intended recipient of any Benefits, including any delays or failures caused by: (a) technical problems of any kind which may limit or prevent any person’s participation in any draw for a Benefit or the awarding of any Benefit; (b) any loss or damage arising from or in connection with the allocation of a Benefit; (c) any act or offer of any third party; or (d) any other events beyond M&S’ control that may cause the allocation or awarding of the Benefits to be disrupted or corrupted. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit in any way M&S’ liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or any other liability the exclusion or limitation of which is prohibited by law.
Making changes to Sparks
We can make changes to the eligibility requirements, the Benefits, and these Terms and Conditions at any time if we believe, in our reasonable discretion, that the change is to your benefit, or is required for the continuing administration of Sparks and/or any Benefits. Material changes will be communicated to you via the M&S app, SMS, email or postal communication where we have been provided with contact details by you. If in the event you are no longer eligible for Sparks because of changes made to the eligibility requirements, your account will be terminated following a ’two months' notice of the changes. The preceding sentence will only apply where you become ineligible for Sparks in its entirety due to changes made to the eligibility requirements.
We reserve the right to withdraw or cancel Sparks at any time by giving Sparks members two months' notice of termination in writing (via email or postal communications). Termination or withdrawal of Sparks, as well as changes to the eligibility requirements that mean you are no longer eligible for Sparks, will also result in withdrawal or cancellation of any linked Sparks Pay. These Terms and Conditions are correct as of April 2026 and may be updated from time to time by M&S. The most current version of these Terms and Conditions will be available at www.marksandspencer.com.

We've carefully chosen cafés that are perfect for parents with lifts, baby changing facilities, highchairs and space for prams and pushchairs. If your local cafe isn't on the list, it could be that it isn’t suitable. You can find all participating locations here once you’ve signed up and click on ‘Community’.
We'll also be hosting online events as part of our parent hood community, so keep an eye out for those too.
12. What happens when my baby turns two?
When your little one reaches their second birthday, you'll automatically graduate from the parent hood. We'll send you an email to let you know, along with a special offer to celebrate this milestone. Be sure to keep an eye out for other exciting clubs and programs from M&S in the future.
13. Is this club suitable for all household types, and parent types?
Absolutely. Our baby club welcomes all household types. We offer valuable content and rewards for all new parents, regardless of your family structure. While a few specific offers might be geared towards birth mothers, such as nursing bras or postpartum haircare tips, most of our club is designed to support all parents and babies.

To earn your reward, start from Sparks, continue to the Virgin company website and complete your purchase in one browsing session to make sure it is recorded. If you use an ad blocker, VPN, browser extension or other technology that interferes with tracking, your purchase may fail to qualify for a reward.
