When we launched Our Best Ever Burger in summer 2018, it was so popular it made the news (and this year it comes with an all-new cheese melt topping). It was followed by a Best Ever version of our iconic prawn sandwich, made with plump prawns and tangy Marie Rose sauce, which became Britain’s bestselling sandwich last year. Next, Our Best Ever Steak Pie – made with slow-cooked beef, bacon lardons and caramelised onions, and hand-finished with both shortcrust and puff pastry – became our fastest-selling product ever.

This is not just any quiche, this is a deliciously deep M&S quiche made in Yorkshire by our savoury pastry experts. First, the cheese and butter shortcrust pastry is blind-baked to ensure a crisp, flavourful base. It’s then filled with a rich free-range egg and double cream custard, gruyère and cheddar cheese, and Applewood-smoked streaky bacon lardons, and baked until golden. Serve with a green salad or as part of a spread.
Summer’s here, and barbecues wouldn’t be the same without burgers. Last year, after a year-long quest to craft the perfect patty (it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it) we released Our Best Ever burger. Made with specially selected cuts of British brisket, shortrib, sirloin and chuck steak, plus a hint of bone marrow, the burgers were an instant hit. This summer, we’ve topped them, adding a moreish cheese melt with gherkins, mustard and tomatoes. Simply grill the burgers on one side, then add the cheese once you’ve flipped them and allow to bubble away for the last few minutes. It’s everything you could want and more – if you haven’t tried one yet what are you waiting for?
Our Best Ever Trifle is packed with a layer of juicy strawberry and raspberry compote – made with almost triple the amount of fruit compared to our standard trifles – topped with a luxuriously rich homemade-style custard using Channel Island milk and flavoured with Madagascan vanilla, then finished with freshly-whipped British cream. Just the thing to end your family get-togethers in sweet style.
In 2018, Our Best Ever Steak Pie flew off the shelves, with 20,000 sold in just two days. It’s handmade in Yorkshire using generous amounts of slow-cooked British beef, smoked bacon lardons, caramelised onions and two types of pastry. Pop in the oven until gloriously golden and serve with steamed green beans.

Forget the standard al desko lunch: Our Best Ever Prawn Sandwich is made with soft malted brown bread, stuffed with plump Atlantic king prawns and juicy Honduran prawns, and dressed in a gorgeously glossy Marie Rose sauce seasoned with zesty lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, a dash of Tabasco and a kick of brandy.
