A good practical all rounder.
Yes, I recommend this
Light, comfortable, practical and well made with plenty of pockets. I have all three colours and wear them daily.

Treking trousers
Yes, I recommend this
Please do a 27 or 28 leg as they are not easy to turn up. This applies to all trousers.

Practical Trousers
Pleased with these trousers bought as a replacement for a similar pair bought several years ago.

Annual purchase
Yes, I recommend this
I have been buying my husband variations of these trousers for years now. He wears them when sailing. As they are worn at least once a week for 9 months of the year, they need regular replacement. That said, a couple of pairs last the year. They get very bleached from saltwater, and often the adjustment and zip tags are pulled off, but considering the pounding they receive when racing, they perform remarkably well and are a cheaper alternative (and better fit for OH) than the premium sailing brands. He spends his £££ on outerwear and specialist kit instead. He would really appreciate some better colour choices though … Navy and Black for example. They haven’t been offered for ages. Others must find the same as the charcoal grey option is always the first to sell out. The weird petrol blue/green (why?) and natural are constantly available, but OH refuses to wear those. Please M and S, make an old sailor happy!!

Not for me
No, I don't recommend this
Bought them as they are weatherproof. But returned them as found the mid leg zip to be really uncomfortable. Tried a couple of 2 different sizes and they all felt the same. Have other zip off trousers and none of them are uncomfortable

Good quality overall. Good fit. Shorter pockets.
Yes, I recommend this
The fit is really nice on these. One of the features that I do miss on these (which they used to have) was an additional zip pocket on the right hand waist next to the standard one. This was ideal for holding a passport safely when travelling. These are comfortable to wear. The leg length (being odd values only) means that I fall between too long and too short for the two options I have to choose between), but this can be manually adjusted if need be. The zip pocket on the lower leg is a bit small and can be difficult to put things in, or to retrieve items out of (it isn't much larger than a standard oyster travelcard holder size - and if there are other things in the main lower leg pocket, it is unlikely you will be able to use the zip one here). The main lower leg pockets are not deep enough to shut when a larger modern phone is inserted (6.7/6.8" displays are too long) which is unfortunate.

Decent all purpose trousers
Colour and pockets work, fit is ok, however the design could have been a bit better with a little stretch in the waist area as they do slip on long hikes.

Bought 2 pairs of these zip off trousers a few years ago. Loved them. Now wearing out and struggled to get same items. Still from M&S but quality is not so good as previous.

Zip off trekking trousers
Good quality but sizes on the large size and trousers quite baggy.

Great comfort and quality
Already had these in black from a few years ago. The stretch waist makes them super comfy along with the relaxed fit. One small criticism the security pocket in the top right is no longer there, I always find this particularly useful for car keys.

Great for holidays when suitcase space is limited

Brilliant for when you leave the cold of the uk to sunny climates & also for the return.

M and S have changed the shade of the grey trouser
No, I don't recommend this
I have purchased before. They suit my need as a leg amputee, but they don't exactly look smart and I have to have shortened. I was hoping to use the shortened lowers from my previous pair. However you are now supplying the grey trousers in a different shade to what you supplied before so have to pay for shortening as they don't match which is a bit disappointing.

Versatile but beware the pockets!
Very versatile trouser/ shorts combination that are ideal for travelling. Comfortable thanks to 70+% cotton composition. However they have the dumbest pockets possible below the waistband: way too open and not practical for putting things in. I lost a handkerchief because the opening is way too wide.
