Disappointing
No, I don't recommend this
Fabric has a wispy quality on the surface of the wool which makes it look worn. No buttons/zip at all so coat not really suitable for winter as the neck is always very open. Agree with other reviewers about the silly belt with only one loop. Hangs behind and looks ridiculous when coat is not done up - tricky when you consider that this coat can't ever be properly done up given the complete lack of fastenings! Fine for occasional use when not too cold but not a good choice for winter. Not very good value for £140. Have returned this item.

Smart, classic coat
Yes, I recommend this
My daughter wanted this coat and I managed to get it with the 20% discount. The fabric is lovely and the colour, a soft grey, is very flattering and goes very well with a variety of other, stronger, winter colours. My daughter is usually a size 12 but these were sold out, so I bought the 14 and it fits perfectly so we think the 12 might have gaped a bit. The 14 gives an ample amount of fabric to wrap. The wrap around style, with internal ties to hold it in place, is very classic and this coat should be very wearable for years to come. It looks very expensive and if it was camel, you might think it was Max Mara!!!

Elderly gentleman's dressing-gown
No, I don't recommend this
I'm 5'10" and a M&S size 16. The coat fitted quite well across the shoulders but it is huge around the bust and body - I was swamped by it. I also need to repeat what many posters are saying about the lack of belt loops at the side of the coat - you either have to wear the coat "done up" or have the belt hanging (from a single loop at the back) like a tail. This just does not work. Finally, there is a strange "inner tie" belt type thing (as one gets in a dressing gown) but the loop provided for it (on the other side of the inner-coat lining) is so minuscule that I gave up trying to loop it through. The design of the coat has not been thought through - and I don't want to pay that kind of money for a glorified dressing-gown. Going straight back to M&S.

A lovely classy coat which was delivered quickly and nicely packaged. Unfortunately had to return it as the colour did not suit me.

Fits well but reminded me of an old persons coat. Strange colour and not what I expected.

Winter coat for my daughter.
Yes, I recommend this
As a birthday present I bought this coat for my daughter. They didn't have her size the the kingston store. However, the lady on the order desk was brilliant (think her name was Carol) and she order the coat for us. My daughter is a VM manager for a retail rival and said the menswear's merchandising was just terrible. The coat is lovely and looks very fashionable.

nice style off coat
Yes, I recommend this
I received coat yesterday really like it but there is just one small thing that has made me not sure to keep it I would like to leave it open at times but here is only one loop at back off coat so the belt hangs down at he back off coat I wish it had a thin loop at each side so you would have the belt hanging at the sides.Has any reviewers got any ideas to rectify this as its only that is putting me off.

Wrap over belted coat
No, I don't recommend this
I was so disappointed with this coat because even though it was a perfect fit and nice quality, it was made without side belt loops which meant that it could only be worn fastened. This type of coat can usually be worn open as well for a casual look but in this case the belt just dangled from the centre back like a long tail. Because of this I returned it to store. Such a shame!

Shame about the belt design
No, I don't recommend this
Lovely coat, really suited me but the belt is a disaster. When the coat is fastened with the belt it looks wonderful but when the coat is left open it looks ridiculous. There are no belt loops on the coat so unless you tie the belt behind you in a bow that looks ridiculous then the belt hangs a few inches longer than the coat length at the back which also looks ridiculous. A beautiful coat spoilt by non existent belt loops.

Lovely 'designer' look winter coat
Yes, I recommend this
I bought this in store, and was attracted to the material and style. I am usually M&S sizes 8 to 10, and both fitted, but bought this in size 8...if I'd wanted to wear a big, junky jersey under it, I would have gone for the 10. I'm 5'6", and the coat is a great length just above mid calf. It looks knee length in the image because the model is so tall. Lovely, fashionable winter coat, and great colour.

Wrap Coat
Yes, I recommend this
I decided that I wanted a wrap coat for the winter, I nearly didn't order this one because I was worried about the colour, when it turned up I was very pleased with it as it was the length I wanted not too long, I'm 5ft 4in, and a size 10, the colour pleased me, it looked great on, well worth the money for the quality it is, and I had been looking around before I saw this one - well done M&S a winner there I think.
