Good size, not very durable

This bag is a great size. I use it as an overnight bag for work or a carry on while flying. I bought this bag about a year ago and the backpack straps are on their last thread, holding on for dear life. Wish it lasted longer for the price that i paid for it, so a bit disappointed about that.

I bought it last week, but I haven't used it yet... To my surprise the material isn't G1000 which looks manly and hard and Quick dry too. What I like is it can be used for 3 functions.. I am in my late fifties but still like fjallraven products, value for money, durable and fashionable... So far I love this kind,,, weekender

This backpack saved me on my trip to Europe, very good quality, it can handle a lot of weight and I traveled as my personal bag, believe me, was heavy. I highly recommend it.

I used this bag twice since the purchase and absolutely love the versatility of it. You can stuff it full things or just with a few items and it looks great and keeps the shape. The quality is top notch, and it feels very durable without being stiff. Love the extra compartment for shoes!

Straps are susceptible to wear and failure.

I bought this bag less than a year ago for its versatility as a backpack or shoulder bag. I used it for work and occasional travel. It’s one of the only bags that would fit my work laptop. Unfortunately in that time frame the backpack strap tore right where it connects to the bag. I think this is completely unacceptable that it would fail this quickly, under normal use.

I bought this bag to use as a diaper bag for my 2nd child. It’s wonderful! It can fit enough diapers, wipes, and even snacks for my older one alongside my wallet, keys, etc. when I’m done with diapers, it’s going to be an awesome day-bag for just me. Love it!

Received this bag for Christmas. The bag actually fits my needs very well… almost. In Fjallraven fashion, the minimalist design helps with simplicity but has just enough compartments that organizing was easy. The construction seems sturdy for the most part with both the handle and cross body strap very sturdy. Neither of these is the most comfortable, but I’ve had a number of Kanken bags and this was expected…. What was not expected was for the backpack strap to break on first use. Seeing that this is a weekender bag made for short trips, the load was not overly heavy, but the nylon strap gave way nonetheless. This is unfortunate, because until the straps broke, the bag had started to grow on me. Sadly, I will not be able to keep or recommend this bag until this flaw is fixed and I’m frustrated that I’ll have to find another bag when this was the one I wanted. It does seem that at least one other user has had a similar strap issue.

This bag is awesome... But if you want a backpack, get a backpack. Kanken has backpacks with this capacity. Idk why people are whining about the shoulder straps on a weekender...GET A BACKPACK IF YOU WANT A BACKPACK, Get this bag if you want the best weekender...

Incredible bag pack, stable and comfortable like a hiking bag. Bought this before heading to uni, absolutely amazing bag for books laptops and gym bits and bobs. Pockets inside are fab for splitting things you use a lot and not. Really well water repellant, spilt a whole bottle of water on the inside and it barely leaked into the other compartments. Love it.

I purchased the KÅNKEN WEEKENDER as my bag for a 3-week trip around Europe and it almost worked perfectly- but the backpack straps ripped off after 2 weeks of travel. I have the pictures timestamped in the metadata to prove the timeline. I was always able to close it properly and it fit perfectly under the seat in front of me on almost every plane- So I was really sad when the backpack straps ripped out of the top seam while I was walking through Lyon, France. The bag capacity itself was great - in two Eagle Creek compression bags I carried 2 pairs of pants, 1 sweater, 1 extra pair of shoes (wrapped in shoe covers) a few neutral T-shirts, and my toiletry bag. I was able to pack my canvas tote away into the outside pocket when budget airline employees were being picky. The bag would have been perfect if the backpack straps didn't fail. That's when I noticed - the Weekender backpack straps are not supported the same way as the classic Kanken bags- they look like they're less supportive than the mini. Online it says this bag should be able to last a lifetime- so I’m very disappointed that the backpack straps failed so quickly.

Perfect bag for my Europe trip

I bought this as my main bag for a 30 day trip to Europe. (Had a tote as a personal item). It did exactly what I wanted. Love that I could put it on my back to evenly distribute the weight. But also loved that I could open the bag from the lengthwise length to easily see everything in my bag and pull things out. I used the front pocket for easy to reach things like cables, chargers, batteries. I used the slim first “folder” of the bag to hold two pairs of shoes (in separate plastic bags to keep it sanitary. I loved the additional inside zippers so I could organize really well- on one side I put face masks , etc) - on the other side I put vitamins and other health things I’d need to find. And then the main pack is where I put my clothes and toiletries (using packing cubes). I brought a clothesline and did hand laundry every few days which is how I let my backpacks worth of clothes last me for a month. The two things that I would have liked: - way to clasp the backpack straps in front of chest (i did a DIY version where I used a Velcro yoga mat strap from daiso to keep the straps looped together and when it got heavy I would hold onto the middle to more evenly distribute the weight. Worked like a charm for me. I would have also loved a handle like on the short side of the bag when it’s facing up (like a backpack) so that when I go to the restroom, and need to hang it - or when I quickly put it down on the floor and need to pick it back up there a top handle on the short side thats facing up near me - but I see how with the current construction that is limiting because of the zipper - but if there were a button you could use to attach a strap or something I’d be down! I got the light purple - and did spray it with waterproof spray before I left to make it more durable - it seems to have helped!! Cuz it didn’t get dirty as easily and was more water resistant than if I hadn’t done it: I never stayed out with it in soaking rain j would have an umbrella but I’m still glad for the extra protection. I was worried the color would bleed or splotch when I sprayed but thankfully it al worked out well. I did get some scratches on the places where I leaned with my backpack on escalator railings, etc but everything came out when I wiped it with a damp cloth. Nothing crazy needed. 100/100 for me personally.
