In the recent blustery, drizzly weather it performed well. I'm 6'2" tall and a bit overweight, and found the XX Large Long was loose enough for more clothes underneath. Wanted a breast side pocket for easy access to a wallet, which this has. Though, has only one inside pocket - a second would have been useful. Haven't had the problem with the zip yet (as mentioned by other reviewers here); hopefully M&S had fixed it by the time it was bought in Dec 2013?

Bought this for my husband to replace his 30 year old disintegrating old faithful walking jacket. He is thrilled with it. Good fit, although get a size larger if you are at the top end of your sizing. Lighter than his old one, so he is happy. Looks good without being too "fashionable" and has plenty of pockets for maps, phones, hat, money etc. A good buy, especially in the sale.

Nice enough coat but returning for the same concern as ‘SteveinLondon’ (above) with zip ... although mine lasted less than 24 hours before coming unstruck.

Great coat for a couple of weeks...

...until the zip starts to come apart. I am about to return the second one of these coats. It fits me very well and is actually comfortably loose around the waist / hips but the bottom end of the zip has pulled away from its cloth strip - for the second time. It lasted less than a month in both cases. So unless they fit a better zip, I would not recommend this coat. Which is a shame because otherwise it's a very nice coat!
