I dislike the rough texture at the bottom which scrapes the others when stacking. Just worried this might cause damage over time. I love the artisan look which is simple, rustic and classy but will still go with everything. They are ever so slightly oval shaped which I wasnt happy with at first but in used to it now.

Artisan means exactly that. They are all different & a bit wobbly. It's what is says on the tin. If you want perfectly replicated plates with zero appeal then go to a run of the mill, off the production line store

Not as picture, photo shows plain white round plates, these are mis-shappen with bobbly pattern on, smooth to touch but not plain white.
