Pure Linen Single Breasted Blazer

I cannot remember a time when I have not liked linen - its feel and relaxed appearance after a couple of wears. Looking for an informal trouser suit for the cooler days of Summer I was very pleased to find this Jaeger suit. Beautiful shade of mauve and a relaxed fit. My usual size in M&S jackets and coats is a 12 but on this occasion found that although the jacket fit well on the body, pulled slightly across the shoulder. I was also disappointed that the jacket was very badly creased. Although a feature of linen this jacket went beyond the creasing I would have expected from having only been tried on, or folded for despatch. I went on to try a size 14, and 4 jackets later have settled on one that will be wearable after it has been dry cleaned/pressed. The 14 is definitely a relaxed fit on me, now being slightly oversized, a look I rather like. Although carrying the Jaeger brand, the jacket lacks the Jaeger tailoring and a real opportunity has been missed to produce a stylish jacket by not using a sartorial lining, or even lining of a different shade. The buttons look cheap, and are not helped by overprinting the Jaeger brand into them. The inside Jaeger label, stark white, would look better in a subtle shade, even mauve. Personally I would have preferred for the pockets to have been stitched down, thus giving the customer the choice to open, or leave them closed. The fabric itself is a good weight, and I do like the slight sheen. However, despite being wrapped in tissue and travelling to me in a box, thank you. The condition of the jackets has been very poor. Overall this is a good looking jacket and the quality is reflected in the price.

The jacket is a great fit, the colour works well and the fabric feels good quality. The trousers that match are slightly off though.
