This cake is sure to make a splash at any party. Four layers of light sponge filled with raspberry jam and buttercream. Finished with coloured vanilla buttercream swirls, complete with sugar paste shells, starfish and seashorse. Also supplied with a sugar paste mermaids tail to finish the top of the cake. The cake is supplied on a demerera sugar sand effect board and marbled sugar paste letters which can be personalised with a name (up to 10 letters) and a number (up to 2 digits). For single digits 1 to 9, please type ‘0’ before the required number to indicate it is a single digit (the ‘0’ will not be iced onto the cake).

I bought this for my youngest granddaughter's birthday as she is fascinated by fish. Although it looked very appealing we were all disappointed by the sweetness of the decorations so didn't bother to finish eating it which was a very expensive waste. I would not buy again. Overpriced and too sickly sweet.

Ordered this cake for daughter’s 40th. Yes, even grown ups love a mermaid. Cake exactly as in picture. Beautifully, and safely packaged. The cake itself was a lovely light sponge, and not too sweet. Nice and moist. All round a winner, especially for birthday girl.

Light, soft cake which tasted great for all the family. Colourful and complemented our daughter’s birthday theme. A few detail issues- icing seems rushed and sadly the seahorse would not stay in place/ looking very limp.

I picked this cake for my friend's 40th birthday, as she's a water baby! I've had cakes from Marks before and this was just as stunning. It was boxed well, to avid any damage. The decoration is beautiful, and I was impressed that all the 'flowers' were buttercream. The cake itself was soft and lovely, not dry. We managed to cut it up into pieces of varying sizes. It fed around 36 people easily - both adults and children. For a child's party this would easily feed over 20.

Perfect cake for my daughters mermaid theme 4th birthday party! Looks impressive taste delicious, packed very well for collection at my local store. I had no problem with the fish tail as previous reviews have mentioned. Only one gripe, can’t add enough text to the message as my daughter has a long name!! Had to purchase a separate cake topper - otherwise very pleased.

Absolutely loved this cake, it was beautiful, tested amazing and fed a lot of people at our baby shower! We did without the name and age, and asked for “new baby!” to be added instead. Customer services did call to check which number we wanted (I entered 00 thinking that was sensible) - while it wasn’t necessary on this occasion, it definitely goes to show they want to make sure it is perfect for your needs! The cake was packaged extremely well, as was the mermaid tail which was super easy to add to the top at the last minute. A bit on the expensive side but for the yummiest and prettiest cake, it was definitely worth it for our special occasion!
