I was disappointed with the cake and hope it’s a one off as I am thinking of getting two more? The message was messed up on the H on happy and the the chocolate message was smudged and there was a large crack round the middle of the cake. For £50 I expected better.

The cake and coating was gorgeous, of course😃 but….there was not enough flexibility to write the message we wanted . Limited space, OK, but limited characters and what we were allowed to say - v restrictive . M and S you could easily change this!

I usually love M&S food but this cake was a bit of a let down. The chocolate was chalky and lacked any shine and the cake was dry and crumbly

The cake was great, very nicely presented and very tasty. The only comment I would make is it would have been perfect if there had been a gluten free option as our daughter and 2 of our grandchildren have coeliac disease. Everyone can eat gluten free cake and it would have felt more inclusive at my husbands 70th birthday lunch. YOu don't even do a mini one.

Our family are massive fans of Colin so ordered Colin and Connie for daughter's wedding. They both had a white bloom to them Connie worse than Colin. Said on box not to refrigerate but I think they may have been stored in cold storage before collection. They are not cheap at £50 each so expected better from M&S.

We bought 3 of these for a wedding with 120 people as they are meant to serve 40 each. But they were impossible to cut- the chocolate was so thick you couldn’t slice it. Cutting it in wedges and slicing the cake it was very crumbly. Very disappointing

Having been Colins' number 1 fan since his launch, this was the first time opted for the larger celebration cake - not sure if this one slipped through quality control or not ? -it was very lumpy to look at and disappointing - the taste was great of course. Why no 'bottom' ? just a face and scant smarties sprinkled - def one that should have failed QC. 2 normal sized Colins would have been a better option. Would not order again.. sad face

How many people did not realise you could buy a giant Colin the Caterpillar! We bought this for a 50th and we had so many people ask where it was from! Where else!! Colin is a staple in our house and has been forever... the ganache, the real chocolate big bits from the outside, the feet! Oh my i'm salivating writing my review lol!
