Malty, with a fruity character and a dry finish.
The ales from Woodforde's Brewery, which started production in the 1981, were inspired by the discovery of the diaries of an eighteenth century clergyman, Parson Woodforde, who was partial to the local ale. This Norfolk Bitter has most of its ingredients sourced from the immediate area, including water from the brewery's own borehole and Norfolk grown Marris Otter. It has a lovely balanced hoppy malty character.

Good for Woodforde's
Yes, I recommend this
It is great to see a Woodforde's beer available at M & S. Thanks M & S for backing a local, excellent brewer. This is an excellent beer, full of flavour and delightful to pour. Like a previous reviewer Wherry is my favourite but as it is difficult to get outside Norfolk this Norfolk Bitter will do well until I get to the county next time.

Much Appreciated Pressie

I had this case sent to a friend for his birthday & Christmas. I took note of the reviews before making my choice. It arrived on time and he got it he let me know he was delighted saying it was his favourite brew. So I also am delighted and made a note to remember the name for future referance. This is the second present I arranged for delivery with M & S for presents leading up to Christmas and I am so glad I did. I am going to use this service more in future. Thanks !

Woodfordes - great undiscovered (almost) brewer
Yes, I recommend this
I prefer Head Cracker and Wherry to the Nelson Revenge bitter which this is almost certainly modelled on. However this amber bitter is still way ahead of it's competition with enough taste to be able to savour but still very , very easy to drink. A great highly recommended Ale

Possibly the best bitter in England
Yes, I recommend this
I'm not one to go on about fads or trends and thankfully this beer does not fit into these categories. I've been drinking ale for about 40 years and this is certainly one of the best I have tasted. It has a classic hoppy bitterness, satisfying body and you can almost taste the smooth 'browness'. M & S should be thoroughly congratulated for picking this ale. Thanks also to Woodforde's for brewing the stuff. PS I'm male, but as this is my wife's account, I could not submit unless I used her profile.
