The cake tasted as good as it looked. Well presented and served 16 as advertised. Would definitely order again from Marks and Spencer’s. Would be good if a bag or something was provided to carry the cake as was just given it in a thin box to carry through a busy city with no extra protection.

Bought for a celebration birthday - we wanted a different flavour to chocolate or plain looking sponge. It does look lovely and once we had put it in the fridge that improved the flavour as the sponge was a little dry. My email telling me it had arrived also told me I had to collect it that day, which left me little time to collect it. I had been expecting to collect it on Saturday not late Friday afternoon en route to a nursery pick up. It wasn’t clear where I had to go to collect it so I had to find someone to ask.

After reading all the wonderful reviews for this cake I ordered it instead of the one I was going to buy, I wish I hadn't, its just too sweet and the lemon taste is too subtle, it needed to be sharper to off set all the frosting. On a positive note the sponge was nice and light and its beautifully decorated
