This is the third time we've bought this cake because it is lovely and lemony. We bought it for my brother's 60th birthday in July. Initially you're advised to leave it out of the fridge for about 12 hours before esting. But it's been so hot it was ok after 6-8 hours. We put it in the fridge afterwards and it was much nicer as the heat made it a bit too soft.

I purchased this cake for our Granny's 90th birthday and were thoroughly disappointed with first of all the size of the cake, the sweetness and the cost! It was supposed to serve 16 slices, there were 14 of us and I had to cut the cake so thinly to make sure we all had a slice each. Even the birthday girl commented that we shouldn't have bought a shop cake, but we thought it was going to be a treat, how wrong can you be!! Never again.
