How do diffusers work?
A diffuser is designed to gently fill your home with fragrance by dispersing essential oils into the air. You can have reed diffusers, which usually consist of a glass vessel filled with essential oils and have wooden reeds in the top. The reeds absorb the oils through pores and release the scent into your living space slowly over time. You can also get electronic diffusers, which heat and evaporate the oil to create the same effect.
How long do diffusers last?
The length of time a diffuser lasts depends on various factors. With reed designs, it depends on the size of the bottle – our Apothecary 100ml diffusers can last up to 12 weeks. In this time, you can turn over the reeds on a few occasions to refresh the scent. We offer handy refills for our diffusers so you can top up the oil when it runs out. The environment of the room the diffuser is in can also have an effect on the lifespan. Varying factors can include exposure to sunlight and humidity.
How often should I replace my diffuser?
You should replace diffuser liquid once it’s all been absorbed. The size of the bottle will affect how quickly the oil is used up. As an example, our Apothecary 1 litre diffusers can last up to 40 weeks – during this time, you can turn the reeds to refresh the scent. Diffuser refills can be used to top up the oil when it runs out, so you don’t have to purchase a new bottle.
