These are chinos!!
No, I don't recommend this
These are chinos. They are not made from the usual school uniform material for trousers. The material is of a poor quality and will fade and go shiny very quickly. Very disappointed as these are the only regular cut trousers available, and they’re not fit for purpose. I shall be returning them.

Really nice fit and the material is good quality, but after wasting with lots of creases and drying it’s really hard to iron and get them to look nice and new again

Look okay but chaffed!
No, I don't recommend this
Contrary to other reviews, these trousers do look black and are acceptable as part of school uniform but my daughter had bad chaffing on her inner legs after walking home from school on the first wear, so really not kind to skin I'm afraid! The other M&S school trousers that come in a 2 pack are much better.

cotton but with a jeans style fit
Yes, I recommend this
We brought these for my daughter as I thought cotton might be more comfortable to wear all day. Initially she didn't like them as the fit is loose and a bit like casual trousers. The grey has washed to a lighter grey and she has got used to the fit. They are different from the synthetic slim leg styles, I'm not sure if the colour and creases are because they are cotton but they could perhaps cut them with a slimmer option. Positive move away from synthetics overall though hopefully they will develop the range.

Not school trousers
No, I don't recommend this
The trousers are nice and soft however they wouldn't pass as school uniform trousers at my daughters school. Chino style design which is a definite no no and if worn would no doubt have led to a detention for incorrect uniform. Took them back to store and assistant also agreed that they are not school trousers as described.

Not good school trousers
No, I don't recommend this
These trousers have an awful finish to the fabric. They show every crease and fold and look dreadful. Not suitable at all for school trousers as they look incredibly scruffy.

Not school uniform
No, I don't recommend this
Bought for a daughter with sensitive skin and because they were the only pair available online which strictly fit our school's uniform policy of 'straight leg'. disappointing that for the first time ever one of my children has been hauled up by the school for poor uniform due to the colour of the trousers now being suspiciously navy and generally scrappy. It would be helpful if M and S and other retailers would actually pay some heed to the uniform policies of schools which are generally far more restrained than the options on offer! As ever, there is also an imbalance between practical styles for boys and girls, one option for straight leg in girls and several in boys.

Not school trousers

These are not made from school uniform material and simply wouldn't pass aa school uniform in our school. They are chino trousers and unsuitable for school.

The worst PURCHASED ever
No, I don't recommend this
The fabric is absolutely terrible to wash. After wearing them for a bit they looks scruffy and filthy, so you need to wash them every day. Very difficult to iron too. To large in waste so it's looks funny. Very disappointed especially that I was always very pleased with every M&S products.

Questioned by school.
No, I don't recommend this
Initially, these were lovely, soft, black trousers. But by half term they had a navy hue, having lost the blackness. They hold any crease too well and accrue any "fluff". My daughter was also asked by her teachers if the trousers she was wearing were even school trousers and i admit by this point they were looking a little scruffy due to the flaws mentioned. My sons trousers, purchased at the same time look much better, still smart, crease where they should and still black! I would not recommend and took mine back, if they are being questioned by school as being proper school uniform, then in my opinion they fail at being labelled school uniform. Unfortunately, I think there was only one review when i purchased. Also M&S, why are girls school trousers only sold as single items, unlike the boys?

Very poor quality, terrible fit and arrived looking dirty/dusty.

Bought for sensitive skin child
Yes, I recommend this
Winter is here and wanted my daughter to wear trousers on swimming days to avoid tights or socks. Material is cotton, just imagine like chinos therefore will not be smooth and will crumple easily but indeed better for Kids’s with sensitive skin. Will need to iron if one can be bothered.

Good trousers
Yes, I recommend this
I love the fact that they're 100% cotton and they look very smart. Quite sturdy too. The only issue is that they wrinkle quite a bit but that's to be expected with cotton. Very good price for the quality.

Biodegradable Cotton School Trousers
Yes, I recommend this
As a family we are attempting to cut back on microfibres from clothing which don't degrade. So far have only found these as a school uniform alternative so very pleased. Perhaps mention this in your blurb?

School trousers bigger than size guide

Trousers were miles too big for my daughter although size guide indicated they were the right size

Soft and stylish
Yes, I recommend this
My little daughter is very picky when it comes to trousers. She wanted to make a fuss yet again when I asked her to try these on, but as soon as the trousers were on she was happy and said that they feel very soft against her skin. I am more than happy with these trousers and I've bought the same make/model for my son as well.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!
No, I don't recommend this
I purchased three pairs of these trousers because they were regular leg and my daughter's school does not allow skinny fit. They were a little big but I was happy with this as they had an adjustable waist. I thought the fabric was a slightly stiff but assumed they would probably soften with washing. I washed the trousers on a 15 minute, slow spin, 30 degree wash a couple of days before school started and found that they had shrunk to the point where they only just fitted my daughter around the waist (without using the adjustable waist at all). Upon closer inspection, I realised that all three pairs were different lengths, depite the fact that they were all supposed to be the same size/leg length. The fabric had not softened and the trousers were extremely creased and difficult to iron. They came with a crease down the middle (which is what I wanted, as the school requires 'tailored' trousers) but this washed out and, despite my pressing it back in, it dropped out again after a very short period. The fabric creases very easily during wear and seems to trap fluff at an alarming rate. To add insult to injury, when my daughter wore them to school, she told me that when a teacher was checking pupil's uniforms, she asked my daughter if she was sure they were school trousers, as they looked like an 'odd fabric.' Overall these were a disappointing buy and I have had to invest in alternative trousers from another retailer to ensure that my daughter looks smart at school.

Really not keen on the fabric - it picks up the slightest speck of fluff. My daughter said they aren't comfortable to wear, and the pockets do not lie flat.
