I love this dress, it's stunning. I read the reviews after buying on line (a bit risky) and would have been disappointed had it not been just right! This dress is perfect for me, (5ft 9/10 and size 12) and fits like a glove; could have been made to measure. Good quality and just beautiful. I am looking forward to wearing it to my sons evening wedding in March. I ordered it yesterday (Sunday) and it was on my doorstep by 10 a.m this morning. Well done M & S, fantastic yet again!

A beautiful dress which I am looking forward to wearing at New Year. A size 14 fits perfectly apart from the length. At 5'6" tall I was surprised that I had to have it professionally shortened by 4 inches which of course has added to the cost of the dress. As with M&S trousers, it would be great if the dress was offered in short/medium/long lengths.

I put this dress on and it was as if it was made especially for me. It fitted like a glove and was really couture clothing, EXCEPT for the fact that it was about 24inches tooooooo long, took garment to a seamstress but she said she could not shorten it without losing the beautiful lace hemline. It is worth more than the price if one was a 6ft plus model !!! As I don't think I will be growing any taller very very reluctantly returned it!!

This dress had to go back. I am of average height and quite often wear long length M&S trousers, but even with my highest heels this dress trailed on the floor.

Sadly I had to return the dress as it did not fit my bulges. You need to be slim to wear this dress as it goes on over the head and is very unforgiving to any bulges we older ladies tend to have. The dress is lovely for the right figure but not mine!

Ordered this in two sizes kept the smaller one 14 and despite the length loved the material, style especially neckline and sleeves. I have had it taken up professionally because of the lining and they had to take up over 4inches ( I am 5ft 4ins tall)and wear atleast 2 inch heels!! So a great dress but please make maxi dresses in different lengths next season.

This dress is lovely; sadly not right for me as I am very fair-skinned and the colour just didn't flatter. Wasn't keen on the waist-shaping panels as it interfered with the lace but I loved the pretty neckline.

Fantastic dress.Wore it for a 50th Birthday Party and got so many amazing comments.The only negative point was the length.I'm 5'4'' and wore 4''heels but still had to have it shortened.Why not offer 2 different lengths like you do on your long dresses from your Spring/Summer ranges?

That's the thing...it doesn't feel it. Good length. Fits a bit big, so don't be tempted to buy up a size. But it sort of wears me, rather than me wearing the dress. Material is heavy enough to resemble brocade curtain material, and in a bigger size it looks a bit like curtain material. Neckline at back sits a bit strange. Add to that the possibility that anyone who shops in M&S from size 10-22could be wearing the same dress to your special night out (and might look better in it) is putting me off. Put it like this....I've bought another dress just in case I bottle it! And why do they have the model wearing a pair of heavy black work shoes with an evening dress? Might as well have her in wellies!

Good value but this is because it was in the sale I would not have paid original price as a little to expensive. The fit was perfect around the bust also not to low cut. But not around the hips it was a little big that's not such a bad thing apart from the dress does not lie totally flat seems to bunch a little at the sides. But this is a pretty, flattering dress and I would only recommend this for taller rather than shorter woman I am 5'7" and was just the right length for me.

ELEGANT AND LONG!

My first order of the dress was disappointing as one of the sleeves was faulty in that it was tapered more than the other. As the lace material does not stretch this was a problem and I was very disappointed. Another one in the next size was ordered. Although the first one fitted the body I ordered the size up just in case the sleeves were on the slim side again. I do not have large arms and have never come across this issue before. The dress would have benefited from having some stretch in the lace as well as the under body. Saying all that my second dress arrived and fitted with some moving room in - so ladies go up a size. This is a long maxi dress for those who are 6 ft tall it will go down to the ground and it is a limited edition dress so this reduces the likehood of your friends having it. Thanks you M&S xxx

A lovely dress, the quality is fantastic, the lace is heavy enough to pull down the dress so it sits very nicely, I fount the dress to be generous around the waist, however this is only slightly. I am wore this for my engagement party and the comments would not stop rolling in.

Was looking for a dress suitable for formal evening on holiday. Saw this on line and ordered in sizes 14 and 16 as unsure of fit. Both dresses looked good on but decided to keep size 16 as fitted better under the arms( the lacy sleeves are delicate and I was concerned could possibly tear when arms lifted, if I wore the 14 ).Would recommend - Very pleased with purchase.
