Checked A-Line Midi Skirt

I ordered this in both lengths and kept the regular length which is calf length on me. The fabric is an unusual but great colour combination. I was lucky and got it in the sale, otherwise I would have thought it a bit expensive. I bought the short sleeve spice coloured jumper to go with it and have had nice comments. A lovely and unusual style.

I sent this skirt back because although the material was lovely the skirt did not hang right I felt stitching from the waist band needed to be longer to allow the the skirt to hang right instead of sticking out a bit, shame.

Unfortunately this skirt came to my knees so, as there were no longer length on line, I tried several stores with no avail. Therefore I had to return it.

If this check skirt was a person I'd describe it as a little bit edgy and quirky. I don't normally buy midi length skirts but I saw the skirt instore and liked the pattern and tones immediately. It's a little big on my waist but I don't mind that as I hate tight waistbands, particularly if they're high-waisted as this skirt is. I like the buckle detailing too. I'll team it with ankle boots and a mustard or grey knit.

This makes a great change from anything I've seen in M&S for many a long year. There's a touch of the Vivien Westwood's about it, though it might not be to everyone's taste. The fabric is good, though for the price I feel it should have been lined.

I'm 5' 4" tall and size 12. I ordered size 12 long. The size and length of the skirt on me is perfect, the hem finishes low calf.. I have a round tummy and was hoping that this skirt would help hold/hide my tummy as the pleats don't start to flare from the waist, more from the top of hips, unfortunately for me it didn't work, so I'll reluctantly take the skirt back. The quality is fantastic, as is the style and the colours. I may have been tempted to keep it if it had side pockets, it doesn't. It is a beautiful skirt and has the wow factor.

Thick and warm, very comfortable and easy to wear

Admittedly bought in a rush needing something with a hint of Burns for a Supper but in fact really impressed with the quality and fit. Quite a heavy fabric which makes it feel more luxurious than the price would suggest. Bought a 14 and a 16 thinking the fitted waist would necessitate a 16 but it was too generous so the 14 is a neat fit for me - dresses I'm usually a 16. Very happy with my rush purchase and think this will get a lot of use.

Very vintage, great colour, fabric weight and fit

I bought this skirt for a Burns Night dinner and received a lot of complements. I wore it with a fine wool sweater tucked and boots. Very pleased with the purchase

Off to a Burns Supper this weekend and wanted a tartan skirt/kilt. This skirt really fits the bill, albeit not a real tartan. Bought size 12 long, and it feels very elegant with either heeled boots or court shoes. Looking forward to wearing it to the Burns Supper and other occasions.
