try before you buy!

The cake looked lovely and offered good value for money as plenty to go around our guests. And nice as it offered people a choice of 3 different cakes. To be fair having to put the cake together our selves stressed me out a bit and no-one else wanted the responsibility, so my (now) husband had to do it on the morning of the wedding - the dowels are plastic and our little handsaw took one look at them and snapped! but other than that once he located a different tool he reported no problems. I tried some of the lemon and found it too sickly for my taste, so I suggest you try before you buy, and the fruit was very crumbly - my mother who was cutting it up called it "a disaster" I think that somewhat of an overstatement really, but would suggest large pieces and a REALLY sharp knife, our Culinary concepts (nice quality) cake knife wasn't up to the job and the cake fell to bits. However, it did taste really lovely and looked the part.

Lovely cake and excellent value for money. All 4 tiers tasted great. The fruit cake was very moist and the sponge layers were light. Lemon layers were flavoured by the butter cream so quite a subtle flavour. Simple and elegant which enabled us to add our own decorations. Would buy again for similar occasion and have already recommended to friends
