I bought these 4 side plates because they looked cheery and suitable for small grandchildren. They ARE cheery and because of their sturdy melamine manufacture they ARE suitable suitable for little ones ( ie.they are less likely to be damaged if dropped than a standard plate!).The odd thing is their shape. They are not perfectly round as you might expect a side plate to be nor are the edges of a uniform size. This isn't too clear from the photos or description on-line. However, once you get your head round those points the quirkiness adds to the overall charm.
