They are a lovely pair of shorts for school, but there is something wrong with the waist. I have ordered two sizes up from my daughter's normal size and they are still uncomfortable and tight. My daughter is a thin and tall girl, so I often buy the next size up for length and I have to usually draw up the elastic to it's tightest - not so with these shorts. Perhaps someone else can explain why, but my size 6-7 daughter is not fitting comfortably into the 8-9 size.

Lovely fitting shorts, my daughter loves them. Perfect for cartwheel and handstands and dangling from things at the park on the way home! She’s just turned 10 and the 9-10 size fit perfectly. Bought a second pair once she’d given the thumbs up. Only slight boggle is the price when compared to boys shorts. The classic ‘girls clothes’ tax 😢

I was surprised when I received these shorts, that they were not a two-pack. I bought my four year old the boys school shorts, and a two pack is £8, but they are very long. So I ordered these shorts too as it's getting much warmer and the boys shorts are just too long, and I was really surprised to pay £9 and it was a single pack. It is my fault as I was working off assumptions from ordering boys school clothes, but the value for money is much poorer when you consider these are costing twice as much as the boys shorts, and you are getting less material. Seems to be an unfair discrepancy between buying from the boys vs girls range and I don't understand why it should be the case. I was really disappointed with this. Quality is as good as always, which is why I buy uniform from M&S, but no better than the boys shorts, where I got two pairs (£8) for less than this one pair (£9). I should have returned them really as I wasn't happy with this, but I am conscious of the environmental impact of returns so I avoid doing so as much as possible. For the really little ones, I would recommend shopping from the boys range and turning them up, and saving money.
