Raffia Woven Shoulder Tote Bag

A beautiful bag for the money, Katie Loxton bags never disappoint

This is a good bag for occasional seasonal use, which is exactly what I wanted to go with a variety of summer dresses, sandals, etc. it’s lightweight, the shoulder straps are the right length to tuck underarm, it’s soft and doesn’t scratch bare arms, looks ok if held handbag style rather than on the shoulder, it holds all the essentials, isn’t particularly secure with just a magnetic catch, but because the vegan leather trim is off white it can blend in with lots of colours so very versatile. The styling is good, not so keen on the dangling gold cube handbag charm but this can be removed if you’re as fussy as I am or simply turned so it dangles inside the bag if you don’t like it. I can’t imagine it would stand up to everyday use for very long, but how many times in the year do we need summer straw bags? A slight puzzle to me was is that if vegan leather is allegedly ecologically better than real leather, it seems contradictory that It comes highly stuffed, wrapped in tissue, in a bag with satin ribbons, then in a big box - great for giving as a gift but in my opinion it’s unnecessary overkill with the presentation, guessing this is an attempt to make it appear more ‘designery’. I would have swapped all that for just the paper stuffing and a simple cloth storage bag. Anyway, it’s a nice bag, reasonable price, fit for purpose and I liked it enough to keep it. Have enjoyed using it so far.

Lovely bag for summer, excellent quality and size. Downside no zip just a popper so easy to get pickpocketed.
