Care- The compost should never be allowed to dry out completely but, equally do not allow the planter to become waterlogged. Raising the planter above the ground slightly will help it to drain freely
•
Adding some plant food to the water every 2 weeks or so between late spring and early autumn will prolong flowering. During hot spells frequent watering may be needed and this is best done in the morning or evening, to avoid scorching the plants
•
Reduce watering in cold weather and do not allow the pot to freeze. Remove any dying or damaged flowers or leaves as you see them
•
This planter is designed to provide an outdoor display for a few weeks. After flowering, any healthy plants can be replanted if desired into individual pots to prolong their life

Not as many plants as photo suggests.
No, I don't recommend this
The photo suggests lots of little plants but this was not the case. Really disappointed as this was a gift . Plant present was a bit floppy.

Sent this to my daughter in law for her birthday. She sent a photo of it and it’s exactly as promised. Lovely and fresh. Great gift and longer lasting than fresh flowers.

Disappointed
No, I don't recommend this
This was bought as an anniversary present for my husband. I was very disappointed. Like Elasticplastic in a previous review, when opened the plants were badly packed and the whole thing in a sorry state. The Elwoodii was lopsided and, on inspection, it came out of the pot - didn't seem to have been packed in at all. One of the cyclamen was damaged and the viola seemed to have been squashed beneath. A fair amount of the soil seemed to have fallen into the container. We have repotted, and hope the plant will survive. Cannot recommend.

An 80th birthday prescent
Yes, I recommend this
My friends 80th birthday not knowing what to get her, I remembered that she loves her garden, so I went on M&S website and found the exact gift, the barrel which contained winter flowers. The following day they were delivered and I received a phone call from my friend to say it was a lovely surprise and a big thank you. Thank you M&S

Unfinished - very disappointing
No, I don't recommend this
This item arrived unfinished (see photos) The cyclamen was planted and in flower as was the very small cineraria. The Ellwoodii was lying on top of the soil, unplanted. As I moved the soil to plant the Ellwoodii, I discovered the pansy plant, with one dead flower, upside down in the soil. There was no Hedera (ivy) present. This was a gift following a bereavement. Obviously we thanked the sender but would never let them know the poor state of their gift. I assume we are not the only ones in this situation so M&S could be getting away with this on a grand scale! Very disappointed!

Moving House Gift
Yes, I recommend this
Rather than send flowers we thought we would send something that lasted longer for a moving house gift, friend said the plants were fresh and pretty and barrel was of good quality. Loved it was her response.

Not hardy for winter
No, I don't recommend this
Assumed this would have been 'hardened off' as intended for outside. But cyclamen died already and cineraria heading that way. Barrel raised up on feet so drainage not an issue. Just not preped by grower for winter weather . . . Should not be sold in Winter if not suitable for winter weather! Very disappointed as it was lovely when it arrived.

Very disappointing
No, I don't recommend this
Order handling and delivery good. But... Didn't look very fresh; no Ivy, the two flowering/colourful plants were completely hidden by two huge cinnereri. This is a gift for a friend who needs some cheery colour, so a trip to a garden centre and I will add an ivy, remove the cinnereria and replace with something smaller and neater, and another coourful bloomer. Next time, I will make my own planter.
