PETITE Ruched Front Midi Tailored Dress

The style is perfect, smart and flattering, but I would have paid more for a better fabric in a choice of colours and a concealed zip. Marks seem to have forgotten about us ladies of a certain age with disposable income who want interesting and wearable clothes in flattering patterns and colours.

As usual M&S petite range fits a treat and this blue bodycon dress is no exception. The dress feels really flattering due to the fit, fabric, comfort and it's a great length for a petite figure as it's not too long (I'm 5ft). Wearing it gives you the feel-good factor as the proportions are just right. The colour is really eye-catching too, just as it shows in the picture, I've even been complimented on the colour. As the dress is described as a bodycon dress I expected a snug fit, I usually order either 6P or 8P, so I opted for 8P and it was the right choice - one of the nicest fitting dresses for petite!

This dress makes a great statement in a lovely vibrant colour. I had already purchased the three quarter sleeve version in navy so I knew it was likely to fit slightly small and ordered the next size. The shape is flattering, and the zip is not as shown in the online image but a “feature zip” with a large metal ring. My own preference would be to have slightly longer sleeves, but as there was a good hem, I have let the sleeves down by 2 cm and put on a false hem.

A lovely dress, very smart, but best of all it fits. I am usually between a 10P and 12P, I ordered the 12 and I am glad I did. But most of all it is a good Petite. I am 5' 1' and even with a Petite fit the waist seam usually falls across my navel so I steer clear of dresses with a waist seam. but this dress is fine. Also, I like the ring on the zip, really useful, I live on my own and I often struggle with a fitted dress to do up/undo the garment. Well done M&S, please can we have more Petite styles that fit.
