I almost wasn’t going to bother writing a review for these delicious potatoes as I couldn’t imagine anyone who shopped at Marks not trying them . I have bought these so many times when I have guests over . There is no prep at all, just cook and enjoy, an absolute winner giving you time for all the other things you need to do when entertaining a large group. I should add that these potatoes are consistently good.

The potatoes looked good and were cooked perfectly in the micro, but the "butter and herb" sauce had a strange oily flavour which ruined the dish. I rinsed the potatoes in boiling water to make them edible.

For all of us that have steamed/boiled new potatoes for an hour, M&S have it spot on for 6 mins in microwave. I have used these potatoes for Royal Ascot and other summer picnics for 3 years now, as once you have micro-ed them at home, they are excellent as room temp salads. I do perk them up a bit (a la Jacques Pepin/Julia Child), adding a bit of white wine and dijon mustard to the mint/butter bits in the plastic after they've cooked, plus some salt, and cut them in half to absorb sauce, plus seems they go twice as far. The £5 price includes 2 packs, plenty for 10-12 folks.

These are a great time saver and if serving a complex meal the fact they microwave quickly and stay hot in a serving dish is a bonus. Tasty and not too calorific.
