How long do M&S gift cards last?

Our gift cards last for 48 months in the UK and 60 months in the Republic of Ireland. This is valid from the last transaction, which includes when the gift card is bought, when funds are added, when funds are spent or when making balance enquiries. What’s a gift card?

A gift card is a prepaid voucher that can be exchanged in-store or online for items. It’s a great way to let your loved one choose what they really want. Simply select a gift card design from our collection, add any amount up to £500, and it’ll be sent straight to the recipient’s door, or emailed as an e-gift card.

How are gift cards activated?

Our M&S gift cards are activated straight away when you buy them. This means they’re ready to use in-store at the till, where they’ll be scanned, or online, where you’ll need to enter the card number and PIN at the checkout stage.

How do I use my M&S gift card in-store?

When the recipient’s ready to buy their present in an M&S shop, the gift card will be scanned at the checkout and used as payment. If you have money left over on your gift card, you can find out the latest balance and choose something else to buy, or if the gift card doesn’t cover the purchase, you can pay the remainder with another method.
