Working out sizes when pregnant is not easy. I started with ordering a pair of boyfriend jeans in a 10 (with jeans in normal days I can be anywhere between 10 and 12, regular size is 10 for everything else at 5’2 and neither super slim nor overweight). The issue I found is that with those jeans the fake button area is way cutting into me especially when sat down. That goes for anything size 10 or 12. But then the rest is massive on me. So the best option are skinny in size 14. No cutting into me and while the top of the jeans is quite loose and I have to yank them up it doesn’t matter so much due to the full panel.

Super super small with a v. tight over bump band
Lovely quality and a great style BUT I am nearly 14 weeks pregnant and a size 6 petite (5ft 3 and just 8 stone) and these were ridiculously small - I couldn't even get them past my hips. I have recently tried other brand's size 6 and these were CRAZY small - the pregnancy band would have cut my bump in two. Trying a size 8 to see if it is any better.

Bought at about 22 weeks as normal skinny jeans no longer fit. Great quality demin with stretch in the legs, pull on style is a little tricky (but so is pregnancy in general). Too big for me on the hips so don't sit right (however I have narrow hips) but I am going to keep for later in pregnancy when I get bigger and need some smarter jeans to wear (rather than joggers).

Really disappointed that after 2 wears the material (can't call it denim) started to chaff / ball at the thighs. Really poor quality. Also the position of the unnecessary button and the seam at the top of the denim sits too high on the bump causing it dig in when you sit down. Quite uncomfortable. The only good thing was that they cater for tall / long leg length. Overpriced for such a poor product.

These looked and felt great when I first got them. After only two washes they have faded terribly and have shrank too, too short and tight to wear now, only fit for the bin. Disgusted as it’s difficult to find maternity jeans in my size right now.

Not colour fast

I bought two pairs of these in black as the blue had sold out. As other reviewers had stated they came up small i sized up to a 14 and these are comfortable. My biggest complaint is that they’re not colourfast. The photo doesn’t really show the comparison. Bottom pair new and unwashed, top washed once and gone grey already. I washed inside out and as per the instructions. Such a shame as nice jeans otherwise.

Tight waistband

Was really happy with these for the first hour of wearing (so happily pulled off the label and chased my son around the garden in them!!) but then... realised the denim had started to sag horribly. Couldn't pull them up because the button/waist area is really tight and tries to come up to my bellybutton. I'm a big 6 months pregnant and have fairly long legs, so really disappointed!! Keep having to yank them up as the positioning is just way off for the button and waist.

Really good fit. May run a little tight if you're further along in your pregnancy but for me at 5 months, they cover the bump week without being too loose or tight, and don't sag after walking around for a while, which I've found with some of my other maternity jeans. Definitely will be buying some more.

I'm not pregnant, but have a very painful IBS tummy which can no longer cope with regular jeans. These are the best. The denim is lovely and soft and the bump band is comfy and strong, so the jeans stay up. I like them so much that I have ordered another two pairs. One suggestion, though. It would be nice if you offered these in a dark indigo. Thanks M&S. your maternity clothes are the best!

Delighted with these maternity jeans. Really great quality and fit. My only gripe is that the label inside is really scratchy on your skin but hopefully that will soften after the first wash.

I was excited to see M&S selling maternity jeans finally, as I have missed wearing my old favourites! The quality is far better than other maternity jeans I’ve bought and the band over the bump is comfy. I wear them most days! My only criticism is that the zipper area (which is actually sewn closed) seems to pop open a bit for me, maybe I need to size up (I’m usually a 12) but the rest of the fit is good. It’s not a huge problem as I’m always wearing long tops these days.

The seam at the top of the denim sits too high on the bump causing it and the to button dig in when you sit down. I wore these for less than an hour before having to take them off. Maternity jeans are more than just a stretchy piece of fabric sewn onto a normal pair of jeans M&S!
