Lyocell Striped Pyjama Bottoms

I am very disappointed by these pyjama bottoms. They are stylish and the material is pleasant to the touch - but they shrink. I take a 34” inside leg and struggle to find trousers to fit me at M&S, including pyjama bottoms, so when I measured these bottoms against my leg I was delighted to discover that they seemed to be suitable. To make sure, I tried a pair on in a fitting room and confirmed the leg length to be perfect, so i bought two pairs. After the first wash, however, conducted in accordance with the washing instructions, the legs on both sets of bottoms have shrunk by at least 3 inches and they now finish above my ankles. Very annoying. I expect good quality from M&S but these items are very poor. Don’t buy these pyjama bottoms unless you are happy for them to shrink.

My husband loves these - they could easily be worn as a light casual trouser too. I bought one pair then swiftly bought 2 more - one in black and one in maple. BUT when I washed the 1st pair yesterday, at 30 degrees (label advises up to 40 degrees) the leg length shrunk by what looked like almost 3 inches. After they'd dried and the fabric had relaxed, and I pressed them, they were still shorter by almost 2 inches. They were quite long in the length to start with, so they're still okay for my husband who takes a 31 inch inside leg at M&S. But if you're tall, and the same happens to you, they'll be flapping around your ankles! I am disappointed as they seemed perfect, but there's obviously some kind of flaw in the fabric. Now I have to wait to see what happens with the next 2 pairs!
