How often should I change my towels?

You can change your towels every 2-3 years or when there are noticeable signs that they need replacing. These signs can include bad odours, fraying or thinning fabric or when they become less absorbent. Quality towels can stay good for many years when washed regularly.

How can I keep my towels soft?

There are a few different ways to keep your towels soft. Before and after washing your towel, give it a good shake. This can help it absorb the detergent and can help it not to dry stiff. Make sure you are using the correct amount of detergent in your wash as excess can leave them crunchy. Hard water can also affect the softness of your towel – you can get water softeners that can help with this.

How often should I wash my towels?

You can wash your towels at least once a week or after 3-4 uses to prevent the build-up of germs. Gym towels will need washing more frequently to keep them fresh. If you are sharing a house with others, hand towels should be washed regularly to stop any germs from spreading. For best results, dry your towels outside in the sunshine or pop them in the tumble dryer on a low setting.

Can towels be washed with clothes?

Ideally, towels should be washed alone as they need warm temperatures to be properly cleaned. The amount of detergent used when washing towels can also be less than what you use with clothes. Washing them separately can prevent the transfer of any germs onto other garments.
