Find the Fossil Cake (Serves 28)

An interactive birthday cake for the budding archaeologist. Comes complete with the tools to carry out the excavations. My 8 year old granddaughter absolutely loved it. The cake was moist and had lots of edible features. Well worth the money.

Brilliant design, lot of fun. Fossils even inside the cake which was a nice surprise!

My son loves this cake. Tastes well l. Only thing is it could not provide his name on and it is too expensive compared with previous similar birthday cake ordered in M&S.

Delicious cake. Our 9 year old son said it was the best cake ever! I think it was the added fun of finding the dinosaur which gave it an extra sparkle!

Tasted pretty good - no issues there. But it came with a little damage: side fence panel coming away from cake, some fence posts wonky that deformed the surrounding ganache, ‘Danger’ sign pushed over and the dinosaur was missing a limb. We raised with M&S who provided a little compensation but obviously having collected it to order, unless it’s smashed to bits, you have to use it as there’s no plan B! In our view, because of the random damage it was unlikely caused in transit (the box was also perfectly fine) but prior to being put in the box. It shouldn’t have been dispatched.

We bought this cake for my dinosaur-mad son’s 5th birthday party. He loved finding the fossil and we all loved the cake. Sometimes kids birthday cakes are sickly sweet and cheap tasting but this was really lovely quality.

This is such a big hit in my son's birthday party. most importantly it was so tasty. Very fast chocolate cake. We all loved the cake and my son was so happy with the cake.

My son and his friends slurped this cake within minutes:)) they said soooo delicious. I could not find a chance to taste it. Also Dino fossils decorations melted my son’s hearth. He loved the cake.

Bought this cake for my daughter who loves dinosaurs and doing excavations. She loved it. Cake is really delicious. It has a very thick layer of chocolate frosting on top which is delish but others might find a little bit sickly depending on preference. The chocolate cake itself is really lovely probably the best shop bought chocolate cake I’ve ever had.

This is an amazing cake all the kids were fascinated by the soil and excavating the dinosaur. A real show stopper. Tasted great as well

Our little boy loves dinosaurs and loved excavating dinosaur bones from edible soil with the brush that was provided. However, unusually for us, we found the cake and icing tasteless and the icing very slimy. We’re big fans of M&S cakes but this one has been sitting in our kitchen for days with no one (including our two children) willing to have another slice! Maybe a bad batch given the other reviews.

I bought this cake for my 51 year old mum. She loved dusting for the fossil! We re-arranged the dust afterwards, so that I could have a go at dusting for the fossil, too! We got a quality dusting brush, with dense, soft bristles, made in Germany. The cake is really rich, and we struggled to get through it between the two of us. I would not say it serves 28, but perhaps 14. The decoration was fabulous, as well as tasty. Thick chocolate fences, and chewy icing rocks. The little blades of grass, made of buttercream type icing, were really pretty. The icing was plentiful throughout the cake, and the cake was soft and moist. Not dry, like most store bought cakes. There was a real handmade feel about this one. It's nice that you get to arrange the chocolate "soil" yourself, too. You have to experience this cake to know how fun it is! Completely recommended! I would buy it again. Total showstopper.

Fab cake! Bought for an adult (as adults love dinos too!) and was a real crowd pleaser. Serves more than 28 and tasted great! Enjoyed dusting off the ‘mud’ as opposed to blowing out candles. Well worth the cost!
