Excellent comfort & stability. Users with high instep/arches may find the lace lock is adequate, but longer shoestrings and/or widening top end of the tongue would minimize heel slip.

I have been running in brooks for 15 years. These are best shoes I have ever worn. I run in fairly technical routes, 3-4 miles a day. up and down and rocks and ledges and these shoes are comfortable, have great traction and perfect for the trails. Of all the Brooks I have owned these are number 1.

Good shoes with excellence potential
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
I used the Cascadia 19 as my last pair of shoes to finish my Pacific Crest Trail Thruhike. What I like about the shoe: - very good grip - lacing and tongue are thought through - durability of the sole - performance in extreme wetness (three days of consecutive rain, the cushioning only worn out a little and dried quite quickly) What I don’t like: - as with most hiking shoes the insole is so cheaply made that my toes started to hurt (10-13 hours hiking a day, might not be a problem during runs) - the shoe has the disadvantage (had the same issue with the Speedgoat 6) that on uneven ground it cuts into my ankles (was a problem as the trail is quite uneven/ slanted) - my biggest worry was that a stone would cut through the sole - this is exactly what happened as the sole has an unprotected soft part under the heel and I strike quite a bit with heels while walking- so towards the end I could pull a sharp stone out of the outer sole, that got stuck in the rubber - would definitely introduce a rock plate to prevent that from happening In general I think Brooks did a good job in the shoe and I understand why it is first choice for some Thruhikers - there are a couple of things to lift the shoe from a good to an excellent shoe though. P.S.: Review based on PCT Thruhikers and the last section in Washington

Cascadia 19 - Buyers beware!
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
Purchased the Cascadia 19's to replace my pairs of Cascadia 16 and Cascadia 18. My intent was to use the new pair in walking the Camino de Santiago. Purchased the new pair 3 weeks in advance of my trip to allow more than sufficient time for breaking them in and getting used to the new pair. What a disaster!! Turns out the 19's (size EE) are narrower than both my 16's (size EE) and 18's (size EE). These rub on both sides of my feet causing soreness and blisters - exactly the opposite of what I had anticipated. Incredibly disappointing. I will be retuning these shoes under their 90 day warranty claim, but cannot until I get back from Europe using a different shoe brand. Not sure what to do with a Brooks' requirement to use any refund on another pair of Brooks. As I stated, very disappointing. Other buyers - beware!

I dig em!

I love it. I’m a heavier runner and this shoe is holding up really well after 50-60 miles of trails. I really dig the yellow/black/blue color way. I’d recommend them to anyone looking store a good supportive and sturdy trail shoe.

Great shoe
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
My shoe size is 13.5 and I bought a size 14. The shoes fit great. I really like the traction the outsole provides. I walk about nine miles a day and have had no issues in the first month of using them. I normally wear a narrow width B shoe, but these come in a D. No problems with the width.

I have been running roads and trails, and hiking in Brooks shoes for over two decades. The Cascadia 19 is the most disappointing Brooks shoe I have ever purchased. The forefoot is stupid wide and sloppy, and the shoe will simply not lock down. Between the stretch in the shoe laces, the fat in the tongue, and the stretch in the mesh, the Cascadia 19 gave me the first blisters I have ever received in Brooks shoes. The foot print is ridiculously wide, making the shoe almost unusable in tight single track. Plus, the toe kick protection is profoundly wimpy.

The best Brooks ever.

Brooks wearer exclusively. Bought for rotation with Cascadia 17 and others , they pretty much fit perfect right of the box no break in at all. Cushion perfect, I want another pair since they were so great, but lacking in suitable colors for me.

I am quite fond of these sneakers, they are incredibly comfortable, whether I'm strolling around in the house or on unpaved surfaces. They are also excellent for hiking in the woods, they never let me down. The sneakers have a lot of tread, and they grip well, ensuring I never have to worry about slipping on any surface. They are suitable for wet surfaces. The only thing I would suggest changing is to offer more colors in extra wide sizes. I would have preferred to have the sneaker in a different color.

COMFORT AND DURABILITY
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
At 60 I am definitely weighing comfort over speed. I need endurance over the long haul. I tend to get pain in my knee and hip when running more than about a 5K. Brooks running shoes are the only shoes that I have owned that actually make that pain go away. I feel better after a few miles in these shoes on the trail (and my Ghost 16s on pavement) than I do at the beginning of a run. I finally got these out in the woods for a 7 mile shakeout run followed by a 1.5 mile cool down hike, and I felt great throughout. I'm looking forward to wearing these for a 50K in a couple of months. These were also the ONLY Brooks trail shoe I could find in a 2E width so I'm thankful that they are so comfortable and durable. I'll definitely be putting some miles on them.

Supportive feel as always

They feel comfortable while walking and breaking them in. I have not had the pleasure to go for a run in them yet, but I am sure they will offer the same support as previous Cascadia models.

Great trail runner

I was running in the Cascadia 18 which I loved, I just wished that it had a thicker stack for longer runs. The Cascadia 19 solved that problem. Same great shoe, with the extra comfort for longer runs. Provides excellent stability and traction on technical runs. I will be buying again.
